Sweet memories

From cute pre-schoolers just starting out in dance to accomplished professional dancers,
several dozen artists brought a bouquet of culture to the Southwest Side last Saturday, to
a packed community room at the Clearing Branch Library. Presented by Boitsov Classical
Ballet, the performance was enthusiastically received by an audience ranging in age from
toddlers to the elderly. Joining students from Boitsov were students from MainStage Academy of Dance, dancers from the BrayBallet Company, classical pianist Alexander Pasternak and Cheryl Barnes, a Boitsov alumna and faculty member of the Westside Leadership
Academy Theater Guild. The entire production was under the direction of Madame Elizabeth
Boitsov, an accomplished, internationally acclaimed artist whose academy is located in Garfield Ridge. – Greater Southwest News-Herald photos by Joan Hadac
