Well that's a wrap! Another Connect Conference in the books. It was great to catch up with existing connections and add over 60 new supplier contacts to my network to plan future programs.

The Connect team produced a conference that brought over 3,000 attendees to Milwaukee over 3 days of appointments, event workshops, entertainment and networking opportunities.

Grateful to be invited to the VIP meet & greet with Lil Jon, who was also the entertainment for the closing reception.

After traveling on several planes across multiple airlines for the past couple weeks, there's something refreshing about taking the train for a business trip. No middle seat. Plenty of legroom. I can use my phone the entire time. Free Wi-Fi. No security checks. I can keep my shoes on. No one cares how many bags you bring. And the scenery changes. And we left on time. Now if only the guy behind me believed in headphones, this ride would be perfect!

I am excited to be attending Connect Marketplace 2024! It's one of the biggest conferences of the year for planners and suppliers. I'm looking forward to growing my network and catching up with existing contacts.

I'm in Clear Point, Alabama, for Destination Southeast. I've set a goal to expand my network of hospitality suppliers to offer the best resources for sourcing venues for events and meetings.

This is the first of four supplier/planner conferences I'll be attending over the next few weeks. I'm excited to reconnect with previous contacts and meet new ones.

Re: Living in Colombia While Working Remotely

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to give Medellin a try, was that I heard it was a top place for Digital Nomads and Entrepreneurs. Good WiFi is hugely important to me, and so far it's never let me down.

I'm able to "work from home" exactly the way I would in the States. I've heard of many places abroad that would experience intermittent power outages, and that worried me if I had an important call.

I've been on 2 zoom calls today and a few others this week. I also attend 3-4 webinars a week, and so far no issues. The owner of the apt I'm renting prioritizes the WIFI so I don't ever feel worried that it's not fast enough. If I have calls, I really usually work from here, but if not I will go to a nearby cafe and use their WIFI. There are plenty of coworking spaces. You could just pay for the day and know that you have high speed internet. They also free WIFI in the malls and spaces to work there too!

I'm definitely getting more work done while I'm here. Probably because I'm up earlier and have more energy. I took my morning walk, grabbed breakfast-- an empanada & coffee for $1.25 usd, showered, and was ready to start my work day by 9am.
