AC would like to welcome our new practicum therapist Melanie to the team!
Melanie believes deeply in the power of authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationships. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, openness, authenticity, and curiosity. Melanie’s background as a professional opera singer has equipped her to help clients discover their true "voice." She uses Person-Centered Therapy to help clients explore challenges and inconsistencies, foster self-understanding, and facilitate personal growth. Melanie specializes in anxiety, depression, chronic stress, identity exploration, life transitions, grief, trauma, and body image/body positivity. She incorporates an exploration of the ways systemic injustice impacts destructive beliefs, particularly for women of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. In her practice, Melanie integrates feminist theory, advocacy, and allyship in the therapeutic space.
“As a therapist, I love working with clients who feel stuck or sense something holding them back from their true selves. You might be grappling with your identity, eager to understand yourself better, and determined to overcome limiting beliefs. I believe healing is about discovery, with evolving goals and sometimes contradictions as you align with your true self. My approach is grounded in the belief that authenticity is your greatest strength, leading to a life rich with meaningful connections and joy. As Carl Rogers suggests in "Becoming a Person," my goal is to help you live in a way that deeply satisfies you and expresses your true self. Together, we can work towards a resounding "yes" to that vital question of personal satisfaction and expression.”
Melanie is currently accepting new clients! To schedule a free 15-minute consultation or appointment visit artesiancollaborative.com/therapy.
