A few great pictures from the Chicago JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. For the 3rd year in a row, Austin Dzik led our team with a time of 26:23! We had a record year of participation from our office. Way to go team!

We are excited to welcome Sergio back to the McGuire Engineers team as our Plumbing and Fire Protection Technical Director! Sergio strengthens our healthcare and laboratory design capabilities. He enjoys the early design stages of the project process the most and will be a welcomed addition to our team.

President David Brooks enjoyed speaking alongside other riverfront owners, developers, and operators to discuss the key trends, projects, and developments along the Chicago Riverfront.

Last week David Brooks, President of McGuire Engineers attended the 2023 IAMFA Conference in Amsterdam. Along with Ameresco and The Art Institute of Chicago, David had the opportunity to present to the group some recent trends happening in the industry and enjoyed visiting multiple museums, cultural institutions and exploring the beautiful city.

Last night was a beautiful night for the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. Leading our team, Austin Dzik (Mechanical Designer) finished the race in 24:28. This is MEPC's 6th year participating in the race. Way to go team!

Throughout his twenty-plus-year career as a mechanical engineer, David Brooks has earned a reputation as a leader in the design of building systems and infrastructure. Often involving complicated infrastructures and coordination between multiple stakeholders, David is able to facilitate engineering strategies that strike the perfect balance between complexity, cost, and performance.

President since 2021, David’s practical approach and dedication to client satisfaction extend to the entire team at McGuire Engineers. His continued involvement in project details helps the firm maintain a high standard of quality and a sense of ownership in each design. David’s most notable projects with McGuire Engineers have included The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Science & Industry, and most recently McCormick Place.

Robert “Bob” Lysy's engineering expertise is a product of his twenty-two years of electrical design work. He has been a core member of the McGuire team for his entire career and embodies the firm philosophy that “Practical is best.” Bob has a close working relationship with his team and their symbiosis is evident in their professional and cohesive design results.
Bob specializes in lighting design, power distribution, telecommunications, energy code compliance, and emergency systems for institutional and commercial buildings. His technical proficiency is complimented by his dedication to quality, and his tireless work on each project. Bob’s recent, most notable projects with McGuire have included Elgin Math & Science Academy Charter School, Human Capital Research Collaborative, Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Robert McCormick Museum at Cantigny Park.

Passionate about his craft, Robert goes above and beyond to meet his goals and has never missed a deadline. Thank you, Bob, for your dedication to McGuire Engineers.

Earlier this week our office gathered for our annual Thanksgiving potluck. Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our clients, contractors, consultants, and our MEPC families for their constant support. We could not do this without you.

In observance of the holiday, McGuire Engineers will be closed on Thursday, November 24th, and Friday, November 25th so our employees can enjoy their time with family and friends.

As part of the McGuire team for the last twenty-four years, Tony Diaz has been an integral member of the mechanical team and is skilled in educating his clients on the limits and possibilities of the project, supporting sound decision making and emphasizing the long-term health of the building and its systems. Tony’s greatest reward comes in seeing his designs realized and witnessing a client’s satisfaction with the successful outcome of a project. Michael Murphy, LEED AP has been a valued member of the McGuire team for all 21 years of his mechanical engineering career. Mike has served as a Senior Project Manager on countless projects at McGuire Engineers such as the iconic modernization of The Old Post Office, The Art Institute of Chicago, and various Columbia College Chicago campus projects. Committed to his clients from project conception through completion, Mike's efficient and sustainable designs bring enormous value to McGuire Engineers. In his new role as Senior Vice President, Mike continues to lead project teams, mentor staff members, and ensure every project performs successfully. Thank you, Mike, for your continued dedication to our team.
