We are delighted to announce that Nina Idemudia has been named Chief Executive Officer for the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT).
Nina, a certified planner, specializes in equitable community development, inclusive outreach strategies, and organizational innovation for planning agencies. She has focused her 20+ years to ensure communities, especially those most vulnerable, have the opportunity to thrive. She has an extensive background in creating and implementing policy, plans, and initiatives on a city-wide scale as well as a demonstrated track record of helping planning agencies become more innovative, effective and efficient.
Idemudia most recently served as the Chicago Recovery Plan Director at the Chicago Department of Planning and Development. She started her career as a planner for Los Angeles where she was honored by Los Angeles Council member Curren D. Price, Jr., with a SHEro award for her community leadership. Her first-hand experience partnering with CNT on projects provides Nina a unique perspective on the opportunities to grow the organization.
Nina’s work has been honored by the American Planning Association, and she is also the first elected Black president of the APA's Illinois Chapter. In addition, Nina is an adjunct professor at the College of Urban Planning & Public Affairs at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Nina received her Masters of Planning at the University of Southern California and her BA from the University of Michigan.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Laura Freveletti has been named the next CEO of the Les Turner ALS Foundation located in Chicago, IL.
Laura brings 30 years of experience in executive leadership, most recently as senior program officer at The Allstate Foundation, where she led strategic development and implementation of a $28 million national grantmaking portfolio. She has deep connections to the Chicago nonprofit community, with experience as a senior fundraising executive at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Laura also has led corporate marketing and community involvement at companies including Kraft Heinz, LaSalle Investment Management, and Chicago Title & Trust Company.
Laura earned her BA in business administration from the University of Louisville. Furthermore, she understands the direct impact of those living with ALS as she and her family recently lost a loved one to the disease. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Chris Warland has been named the Workforce Program Director of the William G McGowan Charitable Fund located in Chicago, IL.
In his 25 years of professional experience in the fields of education and workforce development, Chris has demonstrated a commitment to identifying and applying evidence-based responses to chronic unemployment and poverty.
Chris joins McGowan after serving 10+years at Heartland Alliance most recently as the Director of Field Support. In this role, Chris focused on ensuring that people who have been excluded from economic opportunity have access to income and high-quality jobs. He led consulting and technical assistance projects for a range of clients and partnered with national funders. The core of his work has involved developing an understanding of research evidence and translating that understanding into actionable recommendations for program design and implementation. He also authored the development of toolkits, best practice briefs, and whitepapers for workforce development, homeless services, and related fields. Prior to his tenure at Heartland, Chris was a proposal writer for the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning and also worked for the Cook County Jail as an Instructional Facilitator.
Chris earned his Master’s in Social Service Administration with a concentration in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and his BA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

Ashley comes to the ACPA from the Chicago Opera Theatre where she served as the General Director since 2019 and General Manager of Strategy & Development prior. While there, she secured a $2.5M gift from a foundation that will help to fuel the capital campaign over the next 5 years. She also helped to secure $1M in planned gifts as part of the Chicago Opera Theater campaign “50 for 50” a goal to generate 50 planned gifts by the organizations 50th anniversary in 2023.
Magnus started her career in the arts at the Utah Symphony & Opera as the Manager of Special Events and later as the Director of Corporate Partnerships.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Chris Broughton has been named the next Executive Director of the Wentcher Foundation located in Chicago, IL.
Chris most recently served as an advisor to Bottom Line, an organization that partners with degree-aspiring students of color from under-resourced communities to get into and through college and successfully launch a career. In 2014, he was tapped to build the Chicago office of the national non-profit Bottom Line. During his tenure there, through 2022, Chris built and led a diverse team of 30 staff to rapidly scale programming from 0 to 3,000+ students of color and increase college graduation rates for participants by 70%. He developed the Board of Directors and secured $18MM in seed and growth from a range of individual, corporate and foundation funders. Prior to Bottom Line, Chris served as Senior Director of College Initiatives at Cristo Rey Network.
Broughton earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and both his Masters in Education and BA at the University of Notre Dame.

We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Leigh has been named the new Director of Operations for the Steans Family Foundation.
Jennifer comes to Steans having most recently served as the Executive Director of Advancement at Youth & Opportunity United (Y.O.U.) in Chicago. Y.O.U. serves youth in grades 3-12 with out-of-school-time programs and youth/young adults with mental health, outreach, and housing services. In this role she led the advancement initiatives, coordinated the theory of change process and worked closely with the Board of Directors, including serving as staff representative on the Strategic Planning Steering Committee.
Previously, Jennifer spent 20 years at the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, where she became familiar with the Steans Family Foundation. With programming focused on the West Side of Chicago including North Lawndale, the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, educates, enriches, and empowers low-income children and families through child, youth, and family development programs. While there, Jennifer held a range of positions culminating in serving as the Chief of Staff for five years.
Jennifer received her Master’s in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
