Mia's candidates raise money, and win. She does what other fundraising consultants say is not possible.

In 1999, after working with EMILY's List on an event for Congresswoman Nita Lowey in NY raising over $1 million, Mia went to Texas to serve as the Finance Director for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. In 2000, Mia was the finance director for the highly competitive open 10th Congressional District working closely with the DCCC, Emily's List, JAC PAC and other national organizations, PAC's, and donors raising over $2.3 million.

Since 2000 Mia Phifer & Associates has led many successful fundraising and general consulting efforts, from helping an Ohio woman who as a first time Congressional candidate raised half a million dollars with donors from all 50 states, to the fundraising effort that led to the election of the first woman to be elected Mayor of Charlotte NC and the election of Alderman Brian Hopkins in the newly drawn 2nd ward of Chicago in a hotly contested 6 way open race.

Mia Phifer & Associates' training packages set them apart from other firms, and Mia has personally provided candidate trainings for the Berkeley Campaign School, IVI-IPO, DL21C Candidate's Training, Personal PAC and the DuPage County Democrats as well as organizing an ongoing Chicago Candidates training that began in December of 2008 with National Consultants from across the country presenting. The next training is scheduled for Chicago in 2017.

Mia believes investing in candidate training up front results in a higher success rate for first time candidates. That in-depth training also helps campaigns, and candidates, that were previously struggling, double their campaign income in short periods of time. Additionally, Mia plans and produces Chicago-based fundraising events for national elected officials and candidates who justifiably feel the need to fly in for some Chicago pizza.

Mia Phifer and associates also works with non-profit groups, most notably the Hotel Rwanda Rusesabagina Foundation. Founder and real-life hero Paul Rusesabagina's personal story was told in the movie Hotel Rwanda. Mia has also been doing volunteer fundraising for over a decade for organizations such as Haitian woman for Haitian Refugees, Heartland Alliance International on behalf of Syrian Refugees, FlintKids.org and Puerto Rico Hurrican recovery among others, raising tens of thousands of dollars with 100% of the income going directly to the organizations.

On the rare occasions when she is not working for a new congressional candidate, volunteering, finishing up a training package for a statewide campaign team, or hiring a top notch campaign team for one of her clients, Mia can be found hosting parties for her friends, or cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs.
