Back from Minnesota! Last week our leadership team attended the conference - Partnering to Support Refugee, Immigrant, and Migrant Community Resilience- convened by the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) in Minneapolis.
Our program managers, Mayra Garduño and Rosalía Tenorio led a dialogue with Health partners around the country about Occupational Health and Safety. We had the opportunity to share and listen to stories of workers and build partnerships that help workers realize their power and improve their working conditions.
On Friday, our team assisted the workers at Miracapos Pizza in Gurnee, Illinois, in delivering the charges filed against the company after they unfairly fired workers who organized and demanded safety measures following multiple accidents. No more retaliation! 📢✊🏽 As workers, the law and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) protects you against retaliation. No worker is alone when demanding health and respect! The law and our team have your back.
