Official announcement below
https://windycitytimes.com/2024/06/10/30-under-30-awards-in-pictures/
The 30 under 30 awards are to recognize LGBT leaders under the age of 30 who are doing remarkable work.
🌈 We’re thrilled to announce that our organization has received grants from IDPH, IDHS, and PHIMC to enhance our services for LGBT+ immigrants! 🏳️🌈
All persons deserve healthcare, housing, food and employment including undocumented immigrants. We are excited to share the expansion of our services to better serve immigrants who are transgender, gender-diverse, and LGBTQ+ individuals across Illinois.
Thanks to the support from IDHS and PHIMC, we’re joining a statewide initiative to expand comprehensive gender-affirming care for transgender, gender-diverse, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
As expressed by Dulce M. Quintero, IDHS Secretary Designate and the first out nonbinary person to lead a State agency in Illinois, ‘IDHS is committed to meeting the people of Illinois where they most need empowerment. We are so proud to play a role in this programming for our gender-diverse community. Together with our partners, such as PHIMC and these grant recipients, we will counter stigma and provide equitable access to healthcare.’
Karen A. Reitan, PHIMC President and CEO, emphasizes, ‘Transgender, gender-diverse, and LGBTQ+ communities deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and to receive care that affirms their identities. These are essential steps that help dismantle systemic discrimination, which has created inequitable access to healthcare.’
Keep an eye out for our” LGBT Immigrant Info session” that will inform about our services in August 2024.
For more information on the impact of this program, visit bit.ly/TGDWellness. Let’s continue working together to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all! 🌟 + ”
