Family Empowerment Centers
"Glorifying God...Loving our neighbors...Strengthening urban families...By what we do...How we do it...And whom we do it for"
All you need to have a perfect Friday night: dinner with family & friends, fun games, & a time to hear and discuss God's Word.
Join us Friday, August 23 at 6 pm for our next event at 5001 N Troy St, Chicago, IL 60625!
Something new we were able to incorporate into our day camp this year was worship. The kids learned about God and how to worship him through these songs!
People matter to God and at Family Empowerment Centers we want all that we do to reflect that.
"This past June, we were absolutely amazed to see how 32 of our high school campers were able to encounter the Lord while at our summer camp. Our goal is that every child, no matter what their financial background is, would be able to join us at Chicago Alive Youth Camp to feel the love of Christ and to hear the good news about Him. Through your generous giving, this became a reality as we witnessed God move in the lives of these children and saw them respond in faith!" -Michael Larkin (CAY Camp Leader)
One of the main reasons why we have chosen to run the many programs we offer at the center is because we believe these are areas where we can help our community flourish. We have been gifted with the opportunity to love and care for our neighbors in holistic ways, and our vision is to continue working toward this impactful work.
We may not have had soccer camp this year, but that definitely has not stopped us from playing soccer! β½οΈ π€© Both the kids at our day camp and our Envision teams would agree that this is one of their favorite activities.
These are some the 3 types of classes we offer during the week in the mornings for our migrant care program and for other Spanish speaking neighbors:

Last Sunday, we honored two graduates from our church congregation. Alex graduated from high school and Josiah graduated from middle school. π¨βπ π They have both worked hard to complete these milestones in their lives and we want to continue to cheer them on and pray for them as they step into a new season!
The front of our Albany Park location is looking great! Thank you to our Envision teams for helping us make our center a more welcoming place. πΈ
We can't wait for our ESL classes to start up again this fall. As our ESL Director, Hannah, said, "ESL is a hospitable space that encourages growth in community."
As a small organization, we have more opportunities for 1-1 conversations with those who visit our center. We try to provide individualized care for each person's unique needs as much as we can. Whether someone needs help finding housing or has questions about the Bible, our staff is here to walk with our neighbors.
ATTN: Due to some transitions our Food Pantry will be going through, it will be closed for the rest of the summer after July 20th. Please stay on the look out here for any updates. If you have any further questions, please email [email protected].
It's so special to see the youngest at Redemption Church form relationships with each other and learn about God's love together at our Sunday nursery.
Would you walk across this rope bridge? π― We had some brave campers at Chicago Alive Youth Camp (aka CAY Camp) two weeks ago!

The kids at our day camp loved having Smokey Point Community Church and Redemption Church with them last week!
Have a fun and safe 4th of July! πΊπΈπ
Due to the holiday, our office is closed today. We will be open again on Monday.
Crafts are always a crowd favorite at day camp!
Just want to say thanks! π
It was great to have this group of DePaul University alumni helping out at our food pantry last month. Thank you DePaul University!
We do many things here at Family Empowerment Centers, but these are our 7 main programs. It takes many hands and lots of support to run all these programs for the kids, teens, and adults in our neighborhood. Please visit our giving page to give to one or more of these programs with the link below.

Many of our "new neighbors" are not that new anymore as some have been here for over a year already. Being able to feed and clothe these families is important and very needed. However, getting to really know them and form relationships with them has been the most impactful not just for them, but for us as well.
Join us today and any Sunday morning at 10:30 am for prayer, worship, and fellowship.
