As the summer months swiftly roll by, it’s easy to lose track of the calendar and be caught off guard by the changing seasons. That’s exactly what happened to me earlier today as I sat in the studio, reviewing my schedule and suddenly realizing that it was already late July. It hit me like a gentle breeze, yet, even as I marveled at how quickly the weeks had flown by, I found solace in the beautiful wedding photographs from this season. Just like these that I happened to receive this week from , working at .arbory. 🤍

These vibrant, joyful images served as a lovely reminder of the creative work our team had poured into designing such a beautiful day and why I love this crazy flower gift boutique and design studio so damn much.

Though the calendar may have crept forward without my notice, these photos allowed me to pause & savor the memory of all our wonderful events, workshops, classes and every day moments we’ve had the privilege of bringing to life.

It’s always a good idea to repurpose your ceremony decor!

When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade - and that’s precisely what the businesses along Milwaukee Avenue are doing in the face of the ongoing construction project that has disrupted their operations. Rather than dwell on the challenges, we’ve chosen to embrace a spirit of resilience and community, partnering together to host a “Lemonade Sip & Shop” on July 27th.

Each participating business will be offering their own unique twist on the classic summertime drink, whether it’s a tart and tangy traditional recipe, a sweet little snack, or a cocktail version.

But the Lemonade Walk is about more than just quenching thirst - it’s an opportunity to foster community spirit, bringing neighbors together to embrace the challenges head-on and find the sweetness in even the sourest of situations. By transforming a construction zone into a lively, promenade (spoiler alert - will be leading a parade beginning at 2pm) we’re ensuring that the disruption doesn’t dampen energy, but rather galvanizes it, reminding everyone that with a little creativity and collaboration, you can always make lemonade out of lemons. 🍋

Last week we were honored to be included in at the ! With a Derby theme, our outstandingly talented team & concepted & created an ode to the horse race with a nod to the Chicago flag. It was a delight to have one the Most Creative Award as well! Please give a round of applause to our incredible team! And for those of you who are wondering, we affectionately named him Nandor. 🤍

I love a good Throwback Thursday. This little photo of Shop Kitty (aka Sweet Pea) popped up in my memories today and WOW did it bring a smile to my face. She brought so much joy and happiness to so many! For those of you who are new here, she was our house cat who lived at Fleur for 17 glorious years (and peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge back in 2019). This photo is also from when we were still designing all our gorgeous events in the back of the boutique! Everything was on top of everything. It was cramped and messy and absolutely beautiful. Wow, we’ve all certainly come a long way - thanks for growing with us. Anyway, hope y’all are having a wonderful Thursday. 🤍
