In just the last six months, Keating Law has recovered over $13,000,000.00 for our clients and their families. Many of these results were realized after the clients were referred to us by fellow attorneys and former clients. Notable settlements within the last six months include:

$5.3 Million a week before trial was to commence for an individual injured in a truck collision;

$2.5 Million for the family of a man killed in a motor vehicle collision. This settlement is believed to be record verdict for a decedent over the age of 65 in the venue;

$1 Million for a wife and mother who was injured after falling down stairs in a commercial establishment; and

$500,000.00 for a bicyclist who suffered facial injuries and an arm injury on a bicycle path in Chicagoland.

Keating Law has again been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine. Founder Mike Keating was honored as a 2024 Super Lawyers and Catelyn Viggiano as a 2024 Rising Star. The selective Super Lawyers award is comprised of only 5% of all Illinois attorneys. The Rising Stars award is granted to Illinois attorneys 40 and younger and is limited to only 2.5% of Illinois attorneys.

Keating Law founder Mike Keating resolved a case involving a teenager who was injured by another teenager at a party in a homeowner’s house. The matter resolved in a mediation in October.

The settlement was for the full $500,000.00 policy limits from the teenager’s family’s insurance and a $129,000.00 contribution from the homeowners insurance that covered the medical bills.

The policy limits were tendered after two years of litigation, one dozen depositions, and two motions to dismiss filed by the defense. The homeowner’s insurance company denied any liability throughout the case and never made an offer until their final motion to dismiss was denied in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Keating Law founder Mike Keating resolved a case involving a fatal motor vehicle collision for $2,500,000.00. This is believed to be a record settlement for the wrongful death of any individual over 55 years of age in Kane County. The case was recently resolved in a mediation on October 18th. The firm represented the family of a 78-year-old husband, father and grandfather. No amount of money can ever compensate for the loss of a loved one, but this settlement brings closure to the case and this painful chapter for an incredibly decent family who suffered an unfair loss.

Keating Law founder Mike Keating obtained a $1,000,000.00 settlement for a local family whose mother was injured in a fall at a nursing facility. Their parent later passed away in part due to the trauma she sustained in the fall.

This settlement is the second highest reported settlement in Chicago-area history for a nursing home case involving a female of the mother's age.

Keating Law's founder Mike Keating has again been named a "Super Lawyer" in the 2023 edition of Super Lawyers and Chicago Magazines. This award is given to fewer than 2.5% of the attorneys practicing throughout Illinois.

Keating Law attorney Mike Keating has successfully resolved a case for a motorcyclist who was injured in DeKalb County in the summer of 2019. The case resolved for $350,000.00 from the policy limits of two separate insurance policies.

The case was severely complicated by the fact that the driver's insurance company claimed the driver had not paid her insurance premiums and denied coverage. Due to this, a lawsuit was filed against the driver and her employer since she was leaving work at the time of the crash.

After years of litigation, the insurance carrier for driver relented and paid the $250,000.00 policy limits of their policy and the insurance carrier for the employer also paid the $100,000.00 policy limits of their insurance policy for the driver.

Our client exhibited incredible patience and dedication to his case. His overall demeanor and decency was referenced by both attorneys as reason they felt compelled to resolve this case entirely. It is a true honor and privilege to have brought this case to a close after three years of litigation.

Attorney Tom Reuland of ⁦‪‬⁩ won a jury trial in Cook County against a law professor who said the Chicago cyclist ran the red before a left hook. State Farm’s offer to settle the case before trial was ZERO.

Chicago Bicyclist Wins Jury Trial Against Law Professor Who Blamed The Cyclist For Crash A Chicago bicyclist won his personal injury lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Cook County over a law professor who blamed the bicyclist.

When our clients come to us it is often one of the - if not the - worst days of their lives. At our first meetings I always tell my clients that I cannot guarantee what the outcome will be, but that Keating Law CAN guarantee that we will do everything we can for them.

Mike’s presentation was on the explosion in the number of bicyclists and cycling injuries since the Covid-19 pandemic. The American Association for Justice is the nation’s largest group of attorneys who represent injured persons and consumers. Mike is the longtime chair of AAJ’s Bicycle Litigation Group.
