We are deeply saddened to share the tragic loss of Mr. Rafael Wordlaw, an Urban Prep alumnus from the first inaugural class of 2010. Mr. Wordlaw’s journey from student to Deputy Sheriff exemplified the power of education and mentorship.

Despite the rise in violence, we remain committed to supporting our youth. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Wordlaw’s family and all affected by gun violence. Let us honor his memory by continuing to believe in the transformative impact of education and community support.
