DePaul's Jumpstart chapter strives to provide language, literacy, and social-emotional programming f
A national AmeriCorps program, Jumpstart trains DePaul students to deliver an innovative early education program via yearlong one-on-one relationships with preschool children from low-income households. Participants work with children on language, literacy, and social and initiative skills for a commitment of at least 300 hours during the academic year.
The old saying says, "Teamwork makes the dream work." Thank you to all who joined our Materials Creation Event. During the event, we packed up supplies to support early elementary students in achieving academic success.
Did you miss the event? Keep an eye on our social media accounts for future Materials Creation Events!
When Jumpstart tutors go into classrooms they bring school supplies, activities, and other supplies early education students need for learning. Join us for the Materials Creation Event where we will pack up these items to take to schools.
This event is open to all DePaul students. Food and drink will be provided. This event is eligible for community service hours.
This past quarter, our Jumpstart Program Assistants and Tutors participated in a weekly Professional Development Workshop alongside other programs in the Egan Office. Now that the campus is open, we held the workshops in a hybrid format; some weeks were in-person, while some were held over Zoom.
This Thursday, we are Throwing it Back to 2019 at Erie! Did you know that according to Abc.au.net, crafting at a young age can help foster communication, listening, attention, and imagination?!
Youtube isn’t just for funny cat videos, even though those are pretty fun too! This year our Jumpstart Program Assistants produced a series of videos adapting Jumpstart lessons into short vlogs for students to learn and engage at home.
