Demonstrating their creativity and culinary skills, the Coeur Alaska team celebrates a holiday tradition at camp!

This week, Coeur Mexicana’s Social Responsibility team had the pleasure of delivering toys and sweets to the children living in the communities surrounding our Palmarejo mine.

What a joy to spend time with so many happy, smiling faces.

Delivering food, blankets, warm clothing and holiday meals, the Coeur Rochester team once again supported the Lovelock Paiute Tribal Community Elders with holiday donations and cheer.

In addition, the team helped fulfill the holiday wishes of local children by supporting Lovelock, Nevada's Angel Tree.

Making the holidays a little merrier for local children, the Coeur Wharf team delivered Secret Santa gifts to Deadwood Elementary School, sponsored Angel Tree donations and delivered community food baskets to the Northern Hills Alliance for Children and the Boys and Girls Club of Lead, South Dakota.

Coeur Rochester continued its partnership with Wreaths Across America, paying tribute and remembering US veterans this holiday season by laying wreaths at the gravesites of local veterans.

The annual event brings together volunteers from the community, many of whom were local youth organizations, who honored 400 veterans from Pershing County, Nevada.

Investing in the mining industry's future is a shared goal between Montana Technical University and Coeur. Montana Tech has launched a comprehensive outreach and recruiting program to attract students to its Mining Engineering program.

Garth Evers serves as a technical services supervisor at Coeur Wharf and is a 2023 recipient of an ESGR, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Patriot Award.

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, developed the Patriot Award to recognize individual supervisors who support and value the employment and military service of National Guard and Reserve members in the United States.

Sam Sorcic, an active member of the Army National Guard, nominated Garth for the distinguished award. Garth’s unwavering support and schedule flexibility allow Sam to train and carry out the responsibilities required as a Guardsman with the assurance of continued employment and support at Wharf.

We are grateful for the service and support of both Sam and Garth to our business and our country.

Today is National Miners Day, a fitting time to acknowledge and celebrate our front-line teammates whose skill, dedication and hard work make our modern lives possible. From supporting vital infrastructure and transportation, advancing green technology, developing critical medical applications, aiding in defense and energy supply chains and producing the precious metals that allow you to read this message – please take a moment to thank a miner!

Last month, the Coeur Wharf team celebrated the hard work, achievements and dedication of Mark Sjomeling. Mark was Wharf’s first employee and retired after more than 40 years of service.

From all of us at Coeur, we thank Mark for his commitment to Coeur and his contributions to the mining industry. We wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement!

Coeur Rochester recently participated in the NV 95 80 Futures Economic Forum in Winnemucca, Nevada. The event gathers government, business and community leaders to discuss regional economic growth, workforce development and community infrastructure needs.

Senior Community Relations Advisor Frankie Graham represented Coeur Rochester and presented an update on Rochester’s expansion and community engagement programs.

On Veterans Day, we were honored to celebrate our Coeur Heroes with recognition events across our U.S. operations. Our Coeur Heroes, 89 veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, represent the best of the best. We are grateful for their service to our country and proud to call them colleagues and friends.

We are also grateful for the families of our Coeur Heroes and were pleased to welcome family members of our Rochester Heroes to this year’s celebration.

Skilled tradesmen and tradeswomen provide essential services that keep our mines operating efficiently. Coeur Rochester continues strengthening its invaluable skilled trades team by sponsoring the Maintenance Training Cooperative (MTC) Scholarship at Great Basin College in Winnemucca and Elko, Nevada.

The MTC Scholarship includes a paid internship with on-the-job training and mentoring from mining professionals at our Rochester mine. Rochester’s HR team recently attended an open house to share the many opportunities available with students, parents and community members.

Our Coeur Silvertip team helped keep the youth of Watson Lake, Yukon, enjoying what’s widely considered Canada’s national pastime. New ice hockey helmets were purchased with a donation to the Watson Lake Recreation Center, contributing to a safe start to the 2023/2024 skate program and an appreciative program coordinator.

Wishing all our colleagues, partners, followers and friends an abundance of Thanksgiving wishes, not only on this day but throughout the coming year.

Modern mining offers incredibly diverse and exciting career opportunities; that was the message that our Coeur Rochester team shared with Lovelock and Winnemucca, Nevada, students at recent career fairs.

High school and middle school students learned more about local opportunities in northern Nevada, including those available at Coeur Rochester, which, post-expansion, is expected to be the largest open pit heap leach operation in North America.

Spreading holiday cheer and receiving a tasty token of appreciation, Coeur Wharf team members recently received holiday gift baskets filled with locally sourced sweet and savory items and all of the fixings for a holiday meal.

Over 300 gift baskets were packaged by employee volunteers. Baskets were also shared with local vendors who support Wharf’s business throughout the year.

At Coeur, we have a community of 89 Coeur Heroes. These are our teammates who have honorably served our country and now apply invaluable military skills, such as teamwork, integrity and leadership, to our business every day.

Matthew Hoffer, Coeur’s Director of Geology, recently enjoyed other geoscientific, environmental and social performance experts at acQuire’s Connect Tech Summit 2023.

Matthew shared how Coeur Rochester is successfully deploying new acQuire technologies to provide more value and efficiency to the ore control program in support of ongoing expansion projects.

Today is Mine Rescue Day. The Mine Safety and Health Administration has set aside this day to recognize the dedication and sacrifice of volunteers who risk their lives to save other miners.

We are thankful for the brave men and women across our organization and industry whose training and service contribute to safe workplaces for U.S. miners.

Our Chicago Community Partnership committee members continue to do their part to beautify Chicago’s neighborhoods.

In partnership with The Morton Arboretum's Chicago Region Trees initiative, the team spent a day planting trees and native plants in North Lawndale at the Trumbull Street Garden.

The Coeur Rochester team joined other local businesses to celebrate Lovelock’s Annual Fall Festival. Employees and their families welcomed community members to the event, led the youth activity of dry pan mining and served as judges for the baking competition.

The Coeur Wharf Sustainable Prosperity Fund is a million-dollar endowment fund that has been supporting the social and economic development of Lead, South Dakota and the surrounding communities since 2012.

The Fund’s mission is to create sustainable prosperity in the areas of community development, education, health and arts & culture, most recently awarding a grant to the Adams Museum in support of an exhibit and video celebrating the history of the Black Hills.

Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, or Orange Shirt Day, is observed yearly on September 30 to commemorate the victims of the residential schools and honor the healing journey of the survivors and their families.

Again this year, our Silvertip team observed this event with awareness, educational activities, and a fundraising campaign with donations collected to share with and support residential school survivors and others in need.

Today, we recognize and honor our Indigenous teammates and the many Indigenous communities whose cultures and traditions have contributed greatly to our country.

The Coeur Wharf team wrapped up another Month of Caring with the United Way of the Black Hills. This year, the team focused their volunteer efforts on maintenance repairs at the Handley Recreational Center/Boys and Girls Club, Northern Hills Day Care Center and assisting a local resident with home repair and yard work.

The Lead, South Dakota Fire and Police Department, recently held a meet and greet with community members, taking the opportunity to positively influence the local children with hands-on, interactive events. Once again, Coeur Wharf sponsored and actively participated in the fun-filled event!

Coeur Rochester’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) recently competed in the 36th Annual Mine Safety Olympiad in Winnemucca, Nevada. Rochester’s eleven-member team was tested on emergency skills, including emergency medical treatment, rope rescue, fire and hazardous materials.

We are thankful for our ERT's proactive efforts, whose training prepares them to identify and mitigate potentially hazardous situations both at our mine site and in the community.

We are pleased to share that six members of our Coeur Rochester team were awarded Safety Awards from the Nevada Mining Association (NVMA).

Every year, the NVMA recognizes individuals who exemplify our industry’s steadfast commitment to workplace safety as part of its annual Safety Awards.

Craig McAuliffe, Richard Miller, Tony Booth, Stephanie Jamarillo, Zack Erickson and Rosie Zavala (not pictured) were recognized as such and are recipients of the NVMA’s 2023 Individual Safety Awards.

As a small token of appreciation for our Coeur Rochester interns and summer students' fantastic contributions to our business, Rochester’s management team fired up the grill and enjoyed a celebratory lunch with the hard-working crew.

Coeur Alaska recently made a $50,000 contribution to Renewable Juneau in support of the Juneau Carbon Offset Fund, or JCOF. The contribution aims to offset emissions and support Juneau’s transition to efficient hydro-powered home heating systems.

Our Coeur Alaska team has supported the JCOF for three years and, this year, had the pleasure of sharing the news of their contribution with Renewable Juneau’s board of directors.

The Energy Resource Governance Initiative Academy, or ERGI, at the University of Nevada, Reno, brings experts from around the world for hands-on training in energy resource minerals and collaboration on best mining operations and practices.

Once again, we were honored that Coeur Rochester was chosen to host the mine tour, and we were pleased to welcome this year’s delegates, mining leaders from Vietnam.

We are pleased to share that our Coeur Wharf team achieved a significant milestone on June 23, 2023, pouring their 3 millionth ounce of gold! This year also marks Wharf’s 40th year of operations. Congratulations to all!

Last week we welcomed our summer interns to our corporate headquarters for Coeur’s 2023 Intern Summit. Interns from our Kensington, Rochester and Wharf mines presented their group projects focused on plastic bottle waste reduction, hazard reporting improvements and excess water mitigation solutions for drill holes.

What a fantastic group of next-generation leaders! We are thankful for all they were able to accomplish this summer.

Coeur Mexicana has partnered with the Autonomous University of Chihuahua to provide training workshops to contribute to the economic and social development of the people in the Chihuahua municipality surrounding our Palmarejo mine.

The workshops provide community members with the latest techniques to produce and harvest chiltepin peppers and promote opportunities for self-employment, productive development and income for the community members.

Upcoming workshops will include training on phytosanitary requirements and legal and marketing support to aid in selling the harvested peppers.

Thank you to our Coeur Wharf interns! In addition to their contributions to our Wharf operations, engineering, safety, supply chain and environmental departments, the interns contributed to keeping the highway that leads to our mine site beautiful and litter-free.

The team also had a bit of downtime, joining Wharf’s management team in an afternoon of golf.

The Coeur Wharf team recently hosted its annual Community Day, welcoming over 450 Lead/Deadwood community members to a fun-filled day at the mine site. The celebration included a cook-out, safety-focused activities and gold-panning!

Coeur volunteers had the privilege of crowning this year’s winners of By The Hand’s Summer Reading Olympics! What an inspiring group of fierce competitors!
