Furthermore, I am pleased to announce that we have received the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor. This award symbolizes our continued commitment to supporting the brave men and women who have selflessly served our country.

Supporting first responders is important as it helps ensure they have the necessary resources, equipment, and training to effectively protect and save lives in times of crisis. Earlier this year, the ACCIONA Energía Tatanka Wind Farm supported the Logan County Sheriff Department in their procurement of a K-9 officer. Her is name Tora and she is a year and half old Dutch Shepherd breed. With our support, the Sheriff’s office was able to retrofit a patrol vehicle and certify both the Deputy Nora and her handling officer, helping to effectively protect and serve their communities.
We hear from Attack Poverty and Wharton SHARE on how our collaboration helps to meet the needs in the communities where we operate. This is part of our Social Impact Management Program (SIM) in Texas.

At ACCIONA Energía, we understand the importance of both summer reading and a smooth transition back to the classroom. That’s why we teamed up with Bess the Book Bus to support reading programs in Illinois, Ohio and Texas to bridge the gap between summer fun and back-to-school readiness.
Together we provided books to approximately 400 young readers in the communities near our solar farms! Let’s celebrate the joys of summer reading and the promise of a new school year!

Earlier this year the Operations & Maintenance team held a volunteering event in which the packed 10,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger. The meals were delivered to the Don Bosco Lakay program in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Don Bosco Lakay supports and empowers homeless children and youth.

Our third pop-up book fair with Bess the Book Bus took place at the Warren Township Public Library on August 8th! This was our third stop on the ACCIONA Energia tour, in total we provided books to 400 children in Texas, Ohio and Illinois.

We had a great day at the ACCIONA Energía EcoGrove Wind Farm and High Point Solar Farm today as our Chicago staff paid a visit to witness the incredible progress being made! These two projects are the company’s first hybrid wind and solar farms. It was an eye-opening experience to see firsthand the immense dedication and hard work that goes into bringing our vision to life. Many thanks to our Operations & Maintenance and Engineering & Construction teams for hosting us!!

Volunteers from the ACCIONA Energía Red-Tailed Hawk Solar Farm had a great time at East Bernard Elementary School for a story time with Bess the Book Bus.
Approximately 250 pre-K to 2nd grade students participated in a read-aloud and then received brand new books to take home!
Through this program, ACCIONA Energía will provide access to books to children in the communities where we operate.
