Why celebrate just one day when you can celebrate all weekend long at Fairgrounds 🥳☕️

This Friday, we are hosting another Coffee Hangout from 1-2:30pm at our Oak Park Fairgrounds (702 Lake Street) with the opportunity to learn more about their coffee, try samples and take home some free merch.

This Saturday, all Fairgrounds Rewards Members will receive double points on all items ordered, all day long! If you aren’t a member yet, download our app so you don’t miss out.

This Sunday, you can receive a free 12oz Counter Culture coffee if you order on the app!

Benchmark Coffee Traders distributes high-quality green coffees from Sigri Estate in Papua New Guinea. They have direct family ties with these coffee producers and work closely with them to bring their beautiful coffees to roasters in America.

From the team:

“Positive impact projects are central to our perspective on coffee. We don’t just support positive impact projects by buying coffees at fair prices, but we directly engage and directly fund social projects on an ongoing basis. We favor projects with tangible results in the education and water access realms, which we continue to support, but we have also been actively searching for opportunities in the realm of women’s health.”

Here are a few of these ongoing projects:

Elementary Schools - We have funded the textbooks for five elementary schools for six years now and in 2023, in partnership with Deeper Roots, we completed the construction and opening of a brand new elementary school.

Water Accessibility - We have funded and installed seven water tanks over the years. There is no piping system in most parts of the Highlands, where most coffee is grown in PNG. As such, people use water collection tanks which are connected to individual homes, schools, and other buildings in order to supply that building’s water. People that do not have access to water tanks typically collect water from nearby rivers, but this is arduous and can take many hours. We fund and install water collection tanks in these communities.

Women’s Menstrual Health & Hygiene Initiative - In partnership with an organization called QueenPads we funded and distributed reusable hygienic products for the women involved in the production of several of our coffees. QueenPads is a women-owned social and green enterprise that is based in Papua New Guinea. They manufacture and distribute reusable women’s hygienic products and conduct menstrual health and hygiene educational session.

At Fairgrounds, we believe in honoring those who dedicate their lives to caring for others and shaping the future. That's why, in celebration of Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Week, we're extending our heartfelt gratitude to these amazing communities. On Wednesday, May 8th, simply show proof of your employment as a teacher or nurse, and allow us to treat you to a coffee or tea of your choice, on us. It's our small way of saying thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication.
