Nestled along the southern shore of Lake Erie, this vibrant city is more than just a dot on the map; it’s a living celebration of lakeside charm, history, and a future as bright as the sunrise over Presque Isle.
💬 Fun Fact: Did you know that Erie is known as the “Flagship City” because of its deep maritime roots? The U.S. Brig Niagara, a historic ship from the War of 1812, calls Erie home!

How do we reduce plastic pollution? We must hold plastic producers responsible for the waste they produce. Andrea Densham, our senior policy advisor, says: "It's time to pass critically needed extended producer responsibility policies across the Great Lakes region."
Tons of plastic trash litters Great Lakes beaches — Why not hold manufacturers responsible? Over 20 years, volunteers picked up more than 535,000 pounds of litter from Great Lakes shorelines, and 86% was plastics. Illinois should follow other states and get manufacturers to help with cleanup.

Buffalo's Story: Nestled along Lake Erie's eastern shores, Buffalo, NY, is a city with a rich tapestry of history, culture, and resilience. Once an industrial powerhouse, Buffalo has evolved into a vibrant metropolis, blending its manufacturing heritage with a dynamic, modern vibe. Founded in the early 1700s, Buffalo played a key role in the Erie Canal's construction, linking the Great Lakes to the Atlantic and fueling America's rise.
