We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming with an organizational update to Ishti Collective! Our dear friend and core collective member, Tuli Bera has transitioned out of all artistic leadership + performer roles. We are so grateful for everything they brought to the collective, starting off as a dancer to becoming a core collaborator/administrator and to sharing the role of artistic co-director.
Tuli isnโt leaving completely though! They will continue to serve as an Ishti Collective Board Member helping grow, build and shape the organization.
Please join us in thanking Tuli Bera for all that she has contributed since 2016!
And if you havenโt heard, we recommend you follow her current project, Ballet Unboxed. Weโve had the privilege and honor of learning ballet from Tuli, especially her gentle approach to teaching the art form that first grounds you in your own body. The roster of teachers are also people we deeply admire.

Our Story
Ishti, the sanskrit word for "seeking towards", aims to create productions and collaborations that draw on the interconnectedness and commonalities that exist across countries, cultures and communities. Kinnari Vora and Preeti Veerlapati's artistic work creates moments of emotional and physical connection to enable the breakdown of our self made social constructs.
They draw inspiration from their Eastern and Western dance trainings in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kallari, Folk and Western Contemporary. The duo strives to focus on topics that are both relevant and accessible to their communities.
