The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program provides a safe, enriching environment to help underserved youth achieve their life's potential.
St. Titus One Church joined forces with Refreshing Church and New Hope Christian Church to host a picnic in Palmer Park for No Crime Weekend! The Community was excited as they were entertained by the Jesse White Tumblers, had a delicious meal, played games and received free school supplies. The 5th District Police came out to stand in solidarity with our Campaign for No Crime Weekend along with members of Pray Roseland. Alderman Michelle Harris and Alderman Ronnie Mosely supported this event as well. Heroes in the Hood did an amazing job in helping with set up. St. Titus One also had a picnic in Archer Park to reach the Hispanic Community coordinated by the Harris family. We also spent time at the El Stations on Friday night promoting No Crime Weekend! We were all In!!! Rev. Michael A. Jones, I is Pastor of St. Titus One M. B. Church and also president of P.O.W.E.R. (Pastors Organized with Equity and Respect) who presented No Crime Day throughout the City of Chicago.

We are planning multiple events in the WestPullman/Roseland and Archer Heights Community. Our Youth have been having a fun time during our Summer Fun Camp. From the White Sox Game to fun Academic Enrichment activities; and from Swimming to Arts and Crafts, we are keeping the Youth engaged this Summer. How do we Stop the Violence - Keep the Youth engaged in positive activities and teach them how to Love One Another as God commanded. Together we can make a Difference!
This year has been disheartening with the number of youth that have been shot in Chicago. Our youth program is working hard in West Pullman to keep youth engaged, but the No Crime Day Weekend Campaign aims to help Stop the Violence throughout the City of Chicago. The campaign is moving forward. Can we work together to have ONE weekend without Violence? Catch the momentum and help us Stop the Violence!!! Support No Crime Day WEEKEND!!!
The Platinum Hair & Fashion Show where our youth got to model and showcase their artistic talent was Amazing! Ms. Tyesha Walton was our wonderful Commentator. Our Artistic Expression Competition featured creative poetry from youth and Marcus Jones, Jr. was our 1st Place Winner. In addition five college students received scholarships including Ethan Middleton, Chase Jones, Maya Walls, KeShaun Johnson and Michael A. Jones, III. Chase was lauded for being accepted to Yale University. This event was covered by renown Reporter Nate Rodgers and was televised on WFLD-TV , Channel 32. It was an exciting, invigorating event for both young and old! Thanks to all who purchased tickets and made generous donations to make this event a success! Special thanks to Kera Care and The Luster Foundation for their support to help make this event possible.
Lights! Cameras! Action! Its time for the Platinum Hair & Fashion Show presented by the St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program. We had an amazing time on our recent College Tour to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. This was sponsored by Roseland Ceasefire and made possible in part by the State of Illinois- Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. Our goal is to show our youth a better way of life and help them attain through education. We were blessed to have Alicia Ferguson, our members daughter and sister, who gave us a great tour of the campus including dorms, academic buildings and Sorority/Fraternity life! Alicia is a RA on campus and really made the tour insightful for our students who are going to college soon.
We are working hard to keep youth off the street providing them with positive outlets during our After-School Program. In addition to sports, our kids love the arts so we provide opportunities to allow them to explore the arts in different ways! And they are truly creative!
The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program Parenting Sessions are going well. The training provided by LCFS Best Start Program has been very effective in helping parents find better ways to nurture and support their children. Hats off to all the participants who have attended multiple sessions to help their children grow through positive interactions.
The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program Parenting Seminar sponsored by Roseland Ceasefire was a great success. Parents and grandparents gathered to learn how they could provide the best care and support for their children. Kirsten Brown, of LCFS-Best Start for Families Coach, provided insight on the importance of empathy and the parents agreed to continue parenting sessions which will include helping parents that have children with Special Needs and Parenting Tips for Parents with Teens.

Congratulations to All our participants in the St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program's Artistic Expression Competition. This event was sponsored by Roseland Ceasefire. Youth came from near and far to spread a message of Stop the Violence in the most creative ways including art, spoken word, rap, music and more. Hats off to our 1st Place Winners Janyah Johnson and Christopher Bruce; 2nd Place winners Carson McClain and Bryce McClain and 3rd Place Winner Myah Jones. Every youth that participated was a winner and received a Cash Prize! Special thanks to Emmy Award Winning Reporter Michelle Gallardo and ABC-TV for their excellent coverage of our event!!!
The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program Winter Basketball Tournament was a huge success. This event was sponsored by Roseland Ceasefire and Roseland Ceasefire attended in big numbers. Participants from West Pullman, Englewood and Auburn Gresham played and battled to the finish. Both the small youth game and teen games were exciting. But the teen game had the audience on the edge of their seats as the Englewood team won 68-67 against St. Titus One. It was a fun day for all and Hats off to NBC-TV Channel 5 in Chicago which captured all the action for the 5 pm News!!!

It was a great day as Roseland Ceasefire treated us to a trip to Zoo Lights at Brookfield Zoo. Twenty-two went from St. Titus One Youth Program but there were 4 bus loads in total. Our youth had a ball as they experienced viewing the animals but also the beautiful lights throughout the zoo. Truly a great experience!
Our youth had a wonderful time bowling during our recent Bowling Social on Friday. This event held in partnership with Roseland Ceasefire gave the youth an opportunity to have fun during the Thanksgiving Break. Friends and Family including the Brewer/Smith/McGhee/Matlock family and Pastor & Sis. Ellis from Refreshing Ministries came out to support this day of fun!!! Thanks to all the youth workers and volunteers for your support!

The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence and Mentoring Program After School Program in conjunction with Roseland Cease Fire had a wonderful time attending the Changing Children's Worlds Foundation (CCWF) Holiday Kids and Craft Fair in St. Charles, IL. recently. Our program's focus is to provide kids with positive outlets to explore and participate in new wonderful experiences while expanding their horizons. The kids were super heroes and enjoyed creating exciting crafts while taking photos and participating in Karaoke, games and lots of prizes. They were treated to a meal at McDonald's before the trip, but received popcorn and other snacks while at the Fair. Thanks to Kim Svevo, Executive Director of CCWF for a great time for our youth and youth across Chicagoland.
The kids had a wonderful time at the Hallelujah Party Tuesday night. Kids came from near and far to enjoy the festivities. Special thanks to Sis. Evia Jones for having the vision to make it a spectacular night. The kids had pizza and cupcakes, popcorn and more. The candy bags were overflowing. Additional thanks go to Sis. Algela Brown, Marcus Jones, Joshua Nuckols, Pastor Jones and Marlon Jones for their work with the kids every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are thankful to Roseland Ceasefire for their support of our program. We do it all to keep the children safe!

The St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence & Mentoring Program in conjunction with Roseland CeaseFire recently took our youth to the Brooks College Prep HS Homecoming Football game. They were playing Hyde Park. It was cold outside but it warmed the hearts of our kids to actually be at a football game with a live band, cheerleaders and dance teams performing. We continue to put positive images in our kids view so they can see how positive their future can be.. Very exciting night and Brooks Won!!!
Our After School Program is in high gear. Helping the youth achieve their academic and social skills to be successful. Please contact us to register your children and teens. Its Free! We are hosting the program on Tuesday, Thursdays from 6-8 pm and a special Youth Fun Night every Friday from 7-10. We are partnering with Roseland Ceasefire. The children receive homework assistance, participate in arts and crafts, play games including Basketball and Volleyball. They also go on field trips and are mentored by our youth leaders. With God's direction, we are looking forward to an Amazing school year!
