🍓🍇August Fruit Days Part I 🍇🍎

According to biodynamic principles, fruit days on the lunar calendar are the best days to taste wine as fruit flavors are at their peak. We're kicking off August with a series of these special days. Not every day is a full fruit day, so let's plan them out!

August 4th - For dinner
August 5th - ALL DAY
August 6th - ALL DAY
August 7th - Through lunch

Join us this evening to start August's first round of fruit days. Enjoy a glass (or a bottle with only $15 corkage) and $2 oysters during our Sunday Happy Hour (bar open until 9). Don't forget to grab a bottle from the shop for Monday. Come back on Tuesday to say hello and snag the grapes you need (shop is open 12-6) because the fruit days keep rolling through lunch on Wednesday!

Kicking off August, we will have pouring the wines of Marie & Vincent Tricot, a dream team of non-interventionist winemaking. Join us this afternoon to experience wines of elegant energy and sincerity.

This Saturday, will be pouring the elegant and vibrant wines of Johan Vineyards! Stop by to savor some refreshing sips from the Willamette Valley.

Indulge in our smoked trout salad, a delightful blend of fingerling potatoes, shaved red onion, mustard sauce, green herb oil, and fine herbs. Paired perfectly with Le Blanc, where classic Riesling acidity and stony minerality complement bright notes of stonefruit. The bar opens at 4 PM - come early and enjoy!

"Clément Lavallée is," as Martine's Wines puts it, "part of a new generation of winemakers that are exploring the vast potential that still lies uncovered throughout Burgundy."

Our very own will lead tasting through four of Clément's wines today, each of which is a vibrant reflection of his own diverse influences, the legacy of Burgundy, and the exciting new futures possible in wine.

Graham Shelton's Slow Dance! 

Slow Dance began with small-batch production and a French approach in the cellar and has remained steadfast in a devotion to additive-free, low-intervention winemaking.

The wines are rustic yet tender, an affirmation of life's romance - like sharing a sunset sitting on a wooden bench with a lover.

Join us this afternoon as we welcome Winemaker & Master Sommelier, Raj Parr, to the tasting table at Red & White! Raj will be in house representing the southern California portion of his West Coast operation, Scythian Wine Company!

We deeply admire Parr's efforts to engage with domestic winemaking and its historic roots in Southern California, and we hope to best assist by promoting these historic vineyard sites. Join us in going back to the beginning and learning our history so we can continue to do better by it.

Scythian Wine Co. is devoted to making wine from the magical old-vine vineyards south and east of Los Angeles. The chief sources are two own-rooted vineyards, vigorous and thriving on the deep sand of the Cucamonga Valley: the Lopez Palomino vineyard, planted about 1912, and the Lopez Zinfandel vineyard, planted in 1918. Both of these vineyards are farmed by the Galleano family, who have been making wine in Cucamonga since 1923. Parr also makes wine from three other, smaller, old vine vineyards: the Galleano Home vineyard, planted to many red and white varieties about 1918; the Francis Road vineyard, planted to Grenache and Mission and Rose of Peru about 1905; and the Munoa family’s Lone Wolf Vineyard. This is perhaps the most special vineyard of all: it was planted on its own roots on the Pechanga Reservation in Temecula in 1896— with Listan Prieto cuttings brought directly from Spain.
