Legalization was meant to end criminalization, but Englewood—without a single dispensary—still faces high cannab!s arrest rates. This map reveals racial bias and the failure of Illinois' legalization efforts. Is this what equity is supposed to look like?

Why is Illinois such a hotspot for MSOs? 🤔 Share your thoughts in the comments!

Photos from Canna Equity IL Coalition's post 10/23/2024

📢 Terminology update! You’ll start seeing us refer to Multi-State Operators as “cartels.” To be clear, we’re not assigning any negative connotations, but language matters. As the saying goes, “Whoever controls the language controls the masses.” MSOs are operating like cartels, and it’s important to recognize that. Please share your thoughts in the comments! 💬👇

Barstool Sports and its founder, David Portnoy, have a well-documented history of exploitation, sexism, and racism.

Considering the similar accusations GTI has quietly faced, their partnership with Barstool Sports is disappointing, yet unsurprising. What do you think about this alliance? Let us know in the comments!

The Boston Globe recently uncovered alarming lab testing practices used by cannabis businesses in Massachusetts to evade accountability. While Massachusetts is far from Illinois, we face similar issues here, with limited transparency in our own cannabis market. You may recall a report from the Sun-Times a few years ago that revealed the presence of toxins in products sold at Illinois dispensaries. It's long overdue for Illinois lawmakers to improve access to testing and enforce mandatory transparency. Stay engaged with the coalition and sign up for our newsletter at bit.ly/CEICdonate.

🚨 Big News! 🚨 Cook County recently awarded $3.6 million in grants to support social equity 🌿 businesses!

We're incredibly proud to have partnered with Commissioner Lowry's office to help develop this program and bring vital financial support to businesses that need it most. 🙌

A huge thank you to our county partners for making this possible! Now, we call on all municipalities to step up and use cannabis revenue to create similar grant programs. Let's keep pushing for equity! 💪
