Bronzeville Fencing Academy youth kicked off their very first BSA STEM session! Scouts delved into the world of 3D printing under the guidance of Professor Stephen Smith. They mastered materials, discovering the alchemy of turning ideas into tangible objects. Starting with tracing images on paper, Scouts soon ventured beyond, creating their own designs in a burst of creativity. As 3D objects took shape, so did smiles, fostering a love for innovation. Here's to the next chapter of Scout adventures, where creativity knows no bounds!
Iron Horse District-Pathway To Adventure Council
During Giving Tuesday, we're reminded of its profound role in supporting a program that empowers our Scouts to confidently act in emergency situations, cultivating their ability to make a real difference when it matters most.
Your contributions have already made a significant impact! Our west area districts organized a First Aid Camporee, welcoming over 230 participants, with the help of many local community members. Witnessing our Scouts' dedication to safety was awe-inspiring—they honed CPR skills and mastered ditch and gully rescues. Embracing the essence of wilderness survival, they even crafted gurneys from sticks and blankets, showcasing their resourcefulness.
Additionally, our Portage Creek district teamed with the Loyola Emergency Medicine team to host their own First Aid meet! 83 Scouts and their families joined as the Loyola team shared invaluable first-aid expertise and insights into medical career pathways. Scouts tackled simulated medical scenarios—from choking to heart attacks—showcasing leadership, teamwork, and first aid proficiency. Juliana, a Scout participant, highlighted, “The first aid meet is a great opportunity for Scouts to interact with professionals in the healthcare field, like the Loyola team, to practice skills we already know and to learn new first aid skills. The Loyola team helped us understand the importance of team building and showed us ways to practice with different first aid scenarios.”
Join us this Giving Tuesday to continue supporting these remarkable young minds. Your support ensures they're equipped with the knowledge and readiness to make a meaningful difference when faced with challenges, fostering a generation of confident and capable individuals ready to respond in times of need.

This Giving Tuesday, join us on an incredible adventure of kindness and empowerment! Your generosity fuels our program that empowers youth, like Jorge and his troop, igniting their passion to make a difference.
Through Jorge's Eagle Scout project, they rallied to support their local animal shelter by gathering an amazing array of donations—food, blankets, towels, toys, pet shampoo, litter, treats, and more—all to enrich the lives of shelter animals. The Chicago Animal Care and Control says, "We cannot express enough how grateful we are for Jorge and the entire troop's hard work and dedication. Our furry residents are beyond appreciative of these incredible donations! We are truly blessed to have such amazing individuals in our community."
Your support on Giving Tuesday ensures more stories like Jorge's, where the journey of giving back transforms communities for the better. Join us this Giving Tuesday and be part of the adventure that changes lives, one act of kindness at a time!

Join us this Giving Tuesday and be the hero behind unforgettable journeys for our Scouts. Your support goes beyond just a monetary contribution; it's an investment in their dreams and future. Your generosity allows us to provide financial aid to Scouts in need, just like Quin, who had the remarkable chance to participate in the National Scout Jamboree.
Quin shares, "I would like to thank PTAC for awarding me a scholarship for my Jamboree camping adventure. From the moment I saw Camp Bechtel, I knew that I would have the best time of my life." During his 12 days at the Jamboree, Quin embraced new experiences, from patch trading to ziplining and even meeting his second cousin from New Jersey for the first time! He says, “I have shared this experience with my home troop and encouraged the younger Scouts to participate in the next one, especially hoping the same for my 13-year-old brother!"
Your donations create moments like these, sparking a lifelong love for adventure and learning in our Scouts. This Giving Tuesday, let's keep the adventure alive! Your support means more stories like Quin's, inspiring our Scouts to reach for the stars.

This past weekend, our west area districts (Iron Horse, Portage Creek, and Tall Grass) hosted a First Aid Camporee with a turnout of over 230 participants! Our Scouts showed their commitment to safety by practicing CPR and honing their skills in ditch and gully rescues. In the spirit of wilderness survival, they even built gurneys using sticks and blankets, demonstrating their resourcefulness. We were honored to have our local fire chief educate us about EpiPens and equip us to handle allergic reactions effectively. Delving into emergency situations, we learned how to stay composed and respond to challenges when they arise. The weekend wrapped up with a heartwarming campfire and closing ceremony, where each unit presented skits showcasing what they had learned. It was an incredible experience, and we're eagerly looking forward to the next one.
A special shoutout to those who made this event possible: Bertha Guzman, Mark Huegelmann, Heather Linnehan, Mike Mukulski, John Nelson, Daniel Rummery, Dr. Olivia Stevenson M.D., and every pack, troop, and volunteer leader who participated in making this event extraordinary.

Jeremiah is a 10-year-old Scout who has been a member of Soccer in Scouting since he was five years old! Jeremiah still remembers how excited he was to play soccer when his parents first registered him into the program. Not only has Soccer in Scouting allowed Jeremiah to explore his passion for the sport, but it opened a trail of new adventures that he never imagined! He’s been able to practice his archery aim at Cub Scout Day Camp, participated in Scouting for Food as a service project to help those in need, and built stronger ties with his family, who have been with him every step of the way. Soccer in Scouting gave Jeremiah the tools to be a better person, student, and family member every day. As Jeremiah looks at the medals and trophies he’s won throughout his time in the program, he proudly states “I love Soccer in Scouting.”
