Our Story
Under the direction of professor Harriet de Wit, the Human Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory (HBPL) investigates the determinants and the consequences of drug and alcohol use by measuring physiological, behavioral and subjective effects of acute doses of psychoactive drugs in human volunteers.
We are always looking for new participants between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in our studies. All research subjects are paid for their participation. Different studies require different amounts of time, and pay different amounts of money. All of our studies are conducted at the University of Chicago in Hyde Park.
We are currently looking for subjects with any of the following qualifications:
- Moderate to heavy drinkers
- Club drug users
- Recreational drug users
- Light smokers or non-smokers
In order to see which, if any, of our studies you may qualify for we need you to provide us with some preliminary information. The easiest way to do this is to complete our online questionnaire.
http://tinyurl.com/dewitlab
Please fill it out as honestly and accurately as possible. All of the information you disclose on the questionnaire is confidential. Once you submit a questionnaire, we will review your responses and send you information on whichever studies you potentially qualify for. Please note that this review may take up to a week. In the event that there are no studies that match your qualifications, it is our policy not to disclose why.
