Todd has a BFA in Dance from , a MFA in Dance from , and has performed with numerous companies throughout his career. As an instructor, he has taught movement in various forms for over twenty years, including dance (ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary), Pilates, yoga, and functional exercise/injury prevention.

On Friday we wrapped up our very first Summer Intensive at our South Loop Studios with Junior Summer Intensive Level 2 students and today we are welcoming our last Junior Summer Intensive Level 1 students into the same space.

Our Summer Intensive students spent this past weekend in the stars at ! Then on Sunday, they wrapped up their weekend with their own performance at the Sundays on State event series in the Loop.

A special thanks to the Adler for helping us escape to the stars and letting us explore! We already can’t wait to come back 💫🌟

LAST DAY TO APPLY | 2025 WINNING WORKS CHOREOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, is seeking ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy’s Fifteenth Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition. The goal of the award is to recognize talented and emerging ALAANA choreographers whose unique perspectives will ignite creativity in the form of original works of dance. The deadline for application is July 15, 2024.

The winning choreographers will be awarded $5,000 and will create original works on the Joffrey Studio Company and the Academy Trainees culminating in a run of performances in March 2025 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago’s Edlis Neeson Theater. The winners will also have the opportunity to seek guidance from Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director, and Suzanne Lopez, Abbott Academy Director.

A fifth choreographer is selected to work with the Joffrey Conservatory students. The recipient must be a local Chicagoland choreographer.

Kameron Saunders (2023)
Kameron has been on tour with Taylor Swift as a dancer for the Eras Tour.

Manoela Gonçalves (2024)
Manoela collaborated with Joffrey Ballet company artists on the solo piece ‘Benteveo,’ which was presented at the Joffrey for All performance in Millennium Park. ‘Benteveo’ was also presented while the company was on tour to Ballet Sun Valley.

Amy Hall Garner (2011)
This September, the Ravinia Festival will present Amy’s family-friendly piece, Rita Finds Home, performed by Joffrey Academy of Dance students.

Chanel DaSilva (2020)
Chanel recently completed working with the Washington Ballet to set and present her critically acclaimed piece, ‘colōrem.’
