Enjoying beach night with the Chicago Union!

Sandblast is all about the Ultimate... but we are also all about the party!

We will kick off the weekend festivities by meeting up at the Chicago Union game at 7 pm Friday night. They are honoring Sandblast with a beach theme. Wear your best Hawaiian shirt or a jersey from a previous Sandblast. Look for our staff and volunteers who will do the honorary disc flip to start the game.

Saturday night is our free players' party at The River Kitchen and Bar, from 7 pm - 9 pm. Wrist bands will be distributed once you take your team photo at the beach.

We are so grateful to our partners and sponsors who make it all possible including Freshie Organic Tequila Seltzer and Pabst Blue Ribbon.

It is looking like Saturday will be a warm one. Stretching and staying hydrated are key to playing and feeling your best.

We are grateful to have ATI Physical Therapy as our partner again this year. They will be on the beach with us all weekend to answer questions and help you feel your best. Please don't hesitate to stop by their booth if you need help with a stretch, or your ankle taped or any other assistance.

VOLUNTEERS!

We are always looking for more helping hands.

While we love volunteers who are available all weekend long, we completely understand if folks just have an hour or two to give.

Maybe your significant other wants to watch you play, but isn't invested in watching you warm up. They might want to earn a cool shirt by helping us set up both mornings.

Maybe one of your normal teammates is too banged up to play this time, but wants to be in on all the fun. They can help us out at the Merch tent during our busy times and earn themselves some swag.

If you know someone who wants to help, please have them reach out to us, ASAP. We will happily put them to work!

The 2024 Sandblast Discs are now available in our online store - along with some other great merch!

The discs are beautiful - I love the blue one featuring Navy Pier's Centennial Wheel.

We re-opened registration for individuals, because some of you indicated you will have more players than have registered.

We need ALL players registered ASAP! We will only be leaving it open for about 48 hours.

If you need a player or two to round out your team, check out the Indy section under the Teams tab to find players looking for teams.

No matter where you are...

if you are 21 or older you can relax with a Pabst Blue Ribbon or Freshie Organic Tequila Seltzer and dream about hitting the sand in just TWO WEEKS.

Is your team feeling the Spirit Division or the Game Division this year? In both divisions you will get high-level Ultimate play and spirit of the game. But in the Spirit Division you can let your creativity lead the weekend from costumes to special points to bonus games you invent to play within games! You also get Pool Play both days. In the Game Division you will also find creativity and spirit but the focus is on the game. Saturday is Pool Play. Sunday is a bracket style tournament determined by Saturday's results.

Remember, you pay as a team, but every member must register individually. This ensures we have the right amount of food, drinks at the free party, swag - and that the proper waivers are signed.

Chicago Union has a home game that Friday.

Here at the Union, we have always been a long-time proud partner of Ultimate Chicago Sandblast, a two-day beach ultimate weekend at Montrose Beach just down the lakefront from our new home in Evanston!

The event is celebrating its 22nd year the weekend of June 29-30 and we are excited to kick it off with a beach-themed home game that Friday night.

Sandblast offers two great days of beach ultimate, a huge Saturday night party in Wrigley with free drinks, Breakmark merch for captains, Potbelly lunch for players, an event keepsake item, and so much more. They even have a “Spirit of the Game” division that allows for players of all skill levels to participate!

We would love to see a bunch of our Union fans at this event! Registration has been extended and is open through next Friday, May 24th!
