The theme for World Diabetes Day is access to diabetes care. The 2023 campaign focuses on the importance of knowing your risk of type 2 diabetes to help delay or prevent the condition. 1 in 10 adults worldwide have diabetes and over 90% have type 2 diabetes.
In the U.S. alone, 96 million adults have prediabetes according to CDC and 37 million have diabetes. It is the 8th leading cause of death in the U.S.

According to CDC, Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and it involves parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language.
The number of Americans living with Alzheimer’s is estimated to triple to 14 million people by 2060 and the causes are yet to be understood fully but there are several factors that can affect each person differently.
October 14, 2023 is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. It is a day to learn and promote better care for people who are facing serious illnesses. It is important to understand the benefits of hospice and palliative care.

WAD (World Arthritis Day) aims to help raise awareness across the globe of the existence and impact of rheumatic & musculoskeletal diseases aka RMD (rheumatoid). There are more than 200 debilitating effects of RMDs and little are know about them.
In the U.S. alone, an estimated 58.5 million adults have arthritis. It is more common among people with obesity, diabetes, and heart deseases. 7% of 18-45 yrs old are diagnosed with arthritis while 45-65 yrs old is 31% and 65+ with 50% of being diagnosed.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day 🌏 According to the World Health Organization, depression and anxiety are the two most common mental health conditions with depression being one of the leading causes of disability.
Mental health conditions has a global impact and around 20% of the world’s children and adolescents are affected by a mental health condition. Study shows a 13% increase in mental health conditions & substance use disorders in the last decade (to 2017) with su***de being the 4th leading cause of death among 15-29 years old.
Unfortunately people who deal with mental health problems often experience discrimation, human rights violations, and stigmas. Mental health should not be neglected or undermined nor should it be taboo to speak about.

Breast cancer does not discriminate and it can affect everyone in many ways whether you are a victim, a survivor, a fighter or an outside perspective who witnessed someone dealing with this disease.
