✅ Starting with a block-in sketch then learn the principles of form modeling to create a look of realism and three dimensionality. Students can work from still life set-ups or can choose to draw their own subjects

歌川國芳（日語：歌川 國芳／うたがわ くによし Utagawa Kuniyoshi，1798年－1861年）號一勇齋、彩芳舍、朝櫻樓、雪谷、仙真等，為日本活動於江戶時代末的浮世繪師，運用新奇的設計，天馬行空的想法和扎實的繪畫能力，突破浮世繪的框架創造許多吸引人的作品。是浮世繪歌川派晚期的代表繪師之一，是幕末時代三大浮世繪畫師之一，被譽爲「幕末第一人」。他想像力豐富，以新奇的畫面，創作了許多天馬行空的作品，突破浮世繪的框架，因此又被譽爲「奇想的畫師」。然而，歌川國芳最突出的成就是「武者繪」的創新，尤其是著名的「水滸傳豪傑百八人」系列，在日本掀起一股水滸熱，他因此被稱爲「武者繪國芳」。歌川國芳在狂畫、戲劇畫等領域也成就不斐，其天保時期的風景畫、美人畫也贏得衆多讚譽，他還是一個經常在畫面角落裏畫上貓的「貓奴」，可謂一位不折不扣的浮世繪全才。

畫裡巫婆手執講辭唸唸有詞，兩隻武官匍伏地上色厲內荏，老百姓怨魂亡靈化身巨大骷髏索命來！都說藝術價值永恆，想不到近200年前的日本江日本江戶時代浮世繪，當放今時今日Omicron疫下香港，竟然仍相當警世意義。這裡說的正是即將於3月23日在邦瀚斯 (Bonhams)紐約三月亞洲藝術周日韓藝術拍賣呈獻的重量級拍品 --- 日本江戶時代浮世繪大師 歌川國芳（Utagawa Kuniyoshi，1798年－1861）的鬼怪畫鉅作《相馬舊王城》(Princess Takiyasha Calling up a Monstrous Skeleton Specter at the Old Palace in Soma），此畫約創作於1844 年，估價：150,000-250,000 美元，乃 歌川國芳藝術巔峰時期代表作之一

作為浮世繪妖怪畫的代表作之一，《相馬舊王城》(相馬の古內裏)由歌川國芳創作，這幅畫取材於江戶時代通俗小說山東京伝的《善知鳥安方忠義傳》，故事述說在日本平安時代，一位叫平將門的將領舉兵起義，反對天皇的統治，即「平將門」之亂。平將門後來在幸嶋郡北山一戰時身中藤原秀鄉的鏑矢而戰死，其後遭到斬首。在他死後，天皇對平將門的家族進行肅清，由大宅太郎光國領兵。平將門之女（一說為妹）瀧夜叉姬是一名陰陽師（簡單說就是有法力能操控妖怪的人），繼承了平將門的遺志，利用所學妖術奮起反抗，要為平將門報仇。

歌川國芳的鬼怪題材浮世繪，是對日本妖怪文化的傳承與創新，更有其自身的發展脈絡與內在聯繫。歌川國芳之所以熱衷於表達鬼怪題材，與他當時處在的社會環境有着緊密的關係。江戶時代町人文化(市民文化 )繁榮，鬼怪類題材成爲歌舞伎、浮世繪繪畫重要題材之一。此時的出版市場發展成熟，也直接促成了妖鬼文化、通俗文學的迅猛發展。日本德川幕府末期，由於貧富落差擴大，天災頻發，社會不安，饑饉導致暴動頻頻，幕府力量節節衰退。雪上加霜，美國海軍培里率黑船叩關，混亂的局勢、人心的浮動，統治階層本身的問題導致各式各樣的亂局，將人世間紛擾的狀況歸咎於無可解釋的妖怪，造就一個「百鬼夜行」的時代，也造就江戶時代妖怪文化的繁盛。

Applicant needs to meet the requirements below:
Qualifications / Requirements:
🍀Have good communication skills and passions with children.
🍀Teach students new concepts and skills in the area of fine arts and illustration.
🍀Be highly responsible and be on time at work.
🍀Prefer a BFA/MFA degree in fine art or Illustration (drawing and painting), or working toward this degree.
