In recognition of Music Therapy Month, pictured is Jared Z., who is one of our talented music facilitators. When we asked Jared about what he thought music therapy meant to him he said, "Music has a mystic property to it, in that it reaches a part of the soul that nothing else can. It can heal in the most profound way and reach a part of us that doesn’t often get reached."

March is Music Therapy Month, and we are proud to recognize one our passionate facilitators of therapeutic music, Krystal W. When asked what her role means to her, Krystal said, "Since I began offering music therapy/activities at Canyon Ridge Hospital, I’ve gained a profound understanding of its impact on individuals navigating mental health crises. Witnessing patients open up and release emotions through singing their favorite songs has been a deeply rewarding experience.

She continues, "While much of the music offered is mainstream and uplifting, some selections chosen by patients help them express emotions they struggle to put into words. Many have ended our sessions in tears, grateful for the opportunity to share and express themselves. I take great pleasure in bringing these activities to the hospital and am thankful for the chance to make a positive difference, even if it’s just for one person."

We thank you, Krystal, for your passion and dedication to helping our patients heal through music therapy!
