Dear TDBP Families, Friends, and Supporters

We would like to take the time to express our sincere gratitude for the past three seasons of the Torres Di Dio Ballet Program. We opened this program back in September 2020 seeking to nurture and develop the next generation of young artists and leaders. We can proudly say over the past three seasons we have accomplished our goals and more. TDBP was the most incredible team we have had the pleasure of leading and working with. Thank you!

Today, we announce the closing of the Torres Di Dio Ballet Program. While TDBP continues to thrive and exceed our expectations we have decided to step into different roles, implementing all we have learned and gained from TDBP.

As we step into our next chapter, we hope you will stay connected and continue to grow with us. Even though we will be a little farther away, our love and care for each student and member of the TDBP team will not waver.

⭐️End of the Year Performance!⭐️

Join us Friday, June 9th, 2023 at the Light Box Theater in Liberty Station for 2 wonderful performance opportunities.

Our students will be performing excerpts from Don Quixote, “Waterfall” a jazz piece by TDBP Faculty Anna Medina, and “The Journey” a contemporary work by TDBP Artistic Director Bernadette Torres.

2pm SHOW ($10 per ticket)
Join us for an exclusive behind the scenes look at our final dress rehearsal including a chat with our directors about the ballet and pieces being performed along with a Q&A for the audience!

6pm SHOW ($20 per ticket)
Join us for our final performance of the year!

No better way to celebrate this special day for ballet dancers all over the world than with a to our time with Ahita Ardelan in the studio! It was an honor to have her in person, teaching the students of TDBP 💜

Formerly of the Paris Opera Ballet & Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo

Ms. Ardalan received her initial training at the English Royal Ballet in Tehran under the tutelage of Robert De Warren. She continued her training at the Paris Conservatory with Solange Schwartz and Pierre Lacotte before then performing with the Paris Opera Ballet for twelve years. She taught at the Conservetoire de Region de Paris and later became Stage Manager and assistant director for the Princess Caroline Ballet de Monte Carlo with whom she toured all over the world.
In 1991, Roland Petit asked her to join the Ballet National Marseille as his Artistic Assistant and Stage Manager. During her career in Europe, she has worked personally with Rudolf Nureyev, Marcia Haydee, Sylvie Guillem, Alessandra Ferri, William Forsythe and many others. She also served as the long-time Ballet Mistress for the San Diego Ballet.

Ms. Ardelan was the main coach of TDBP Artistic Director Bernadette Torres throughout her pre-professional ballet schooling and had a profound influence on the professional ballet careers of Ms. Torres and TDBP Executive Director Carlo Di Dio. “We are truly honored to have our coach, mentor, and dear friend here to teach our students. Ahita is a special lady and everyone who works with her is positively impacted by her.”

TDBP students, parents, faculty, and our directors had a wonderful night celebrating Ballet Counterpointe’s inaugural performance last night.

A big congratulations to and his wife as well as all the beautiful dancers on a wonderful performance. Thank you for sharing your artistic voices with the San Diego community and our students.

The Torres Di Dio Ballet Program focuses on the dancer as a whole. Emphasis is placed on technique, artistry, anatomy and physiology, dance history, and the business of dance. Attaining a professional artistic career requires years of consistent dedication, self-motivation, passion, and intangible factors including physicality, mentality, and expression.

Our directors offer a wealth of expertise and knowledge. With the development of TDBP, Ms. Torres and Mr. Di Dio have created a program that meets the needs of students and parents seeking quality education, in a more personalized environment.

TDBP's mission is to prepare committed and talented dance students for a professional career by providing an excellent, well-rounded, dance education, allowing each student to recognize their greatest individual potential.

This past weekend we wrapped up our second season of the Torres Di Dio Ballet Program! We are so proud of the incredible growth seen in each of our students. This program is truly flourishing because of the individuals who make up the TDBP Team!
