With Fathers Day just around the corner, we'd like to give a special shout-out to the man many call the Father of El Patio, Alex Murguia. A Chula Vista native, and son of the founder of El Patio, Alex is well known in our community and greatly respected for his contribution to the family business. Almost weekly, we hear guests mention his name, recalling fond memories that many have shared even from his days at Chula Vista High School! Nowadays, Alex enjoys the northwest coast, where he likes to fish and stay warm in his new El Patio hoodie. 🤩 Whenever
he's in town, he makes sure to swing by for his favorite dish at El Patio, the Chile Relleno. ❤️ 🙌

A very special birthday for a very special lady. Originally from Ayotla, Mexico, Naty came to the US in 1984 when she was just 21. She started working at El Patio shortly after and has been an integral part of our history. She is kind, funny and an incredible cook. When she’s not whipping up delicious Chiles Rellenos, she’s caring (and cooking) for her 18 grandchildren. 🤯❤️Her favorite dish is the El Patio House Breakfast 😋

Some of you might have seen this very special lady visit us the other day. Doña Felix is quite the legend here at El Patio. For 40 years she worked with us, sharing her love for cooking and her witty personality with our team. Originally from Guadalajara, Felix first moved to the States in 1973 along with her two lovely kids, seeking a better life. She started working with us as a dishwasher and quickly made her way to the kitchen, chopping vegetables and prepping ingredients for the day. Soon after, the original founder and first cook of El Patio, Socorro Cordova took Felix under her wing and personally taught her all of her precious recipes, still used to this day. She told us, “the boss taught me how to cook…she had a watch-and-learn technique. I learned by looking.” Doña Felix is full of amazing stories and knows how to do just about any task here at El Patio, whether it be changing out the beer kegs or cleaning the kitchen hood. She even recalls painting the entire dining room by herself when she was young! Nowadays, she spends her time traveling the world, visiting casinos, and cooking for her neighborhood. We are so thankful for her and are happy to keep her spirit alive here at El Patio. Salud Doña Félix! ❤️ 🙌
