Possibly the oldest lock I have worked on. Stamped July 24, 1865.

This customer had enough of the BUGS and wanted a sliding screen door today. I was impressed how nice it looked.

Just another Wednesday. Customer needed keys cut and programmed to Honda and Nissan. They were so happy they made this photo for my website.

When they know someone less expensive, and it backfires resulting in fire safety violations. Do people even know the importance of exit devices? These bar like safety devices are designed to run the full width of the door, this feature has 3 main functions for safety.

1. When the building is at full capacity and at emergency the push bar prevents congestion. If the door is so crowded bumping into it will allow it to open and the crowd to spill out.
2. Allows exit in the event you have no extremities to open a door k**b.
3. The Device keeps the door secure in a fire situation, preventing more oxygen from feeding the fire when used with a door closer.

In the 1900s a fire at a club in Chicago killed many because the club owner ignored fire safety. The fire spread fast, the whole building’s interior was in flames in less than 5 minutes. Not enough time to get the building evacuated at 4x capacity with blocked exits. The tragedy is why we have these devices today, don’t undermine them buy hiring a dip who has no idea what they are doing.
