Our Nature Play Plus class for ages 4-7 is the perfect blend of fun, curiosity, and adventure! Kids in this age group are naturally fascinated by the world around them—and love to giggle! 😄

One of our most memorable moments was during our "Playing Possum" game. As we learned about opossums, the kids danced to music, then when we yelled "Boo!" and the music stopped, they all dropped to the ground pretending to play dead—just like real possums! The laughter was contagious! 🎶💫

This drop-off class is packed with hands-on activities, exploration, and discovery of local ecosystems—making every session an exciting adventure in nature! 🌳🔍

In our Nature Play classes, you and your little ones (ages 2-5) can explore the outdoors together, discovering bugs, salamanders, and toads. The kids can unleash their imagination in our forts (or are they houses, restaurants, food trucks, or even jails?) We play games or do activities that teach about local ecosystems and the animals that call them home. Every class wraps up with a story and a snack.

Bonus: Parents get to make new friends too!

Classes start the week of September 16th.
Choose Monday or Friday, 10 AM - 11:30 AM.

For the older kids, the "Big Creek" is always a highlight! In the fall and spring, it’s perfect for catching crawdads and minnows, spotting the occasional snake, and enjoying some water play. During winter, we love to explore and search for bones down by the creek.

Playful Wanderers (Ages 6-12)

Let your kids learn about local ecosystems in a fun, loosely structured environment. Each class will be a mix of learning activities, games, and plenty of time for exploration. Kids can step away from the world of screens and adult-driven activities and have time to make connections with each other and the natural world around them. The kids have input into what happens each day and so have some ownership in the class.

Nature Play (Ages 2-5)

Young children learn the most about nature when they can experience it on their own terms and in a playful way. Each class will have a learning activity/craft and plenty of time for exploration. Each class will end with a book and a snack. Sibling discounts apply.

Are you looking for a nature class experience for your older child/young teen? We'll still spend time exploring but will also have more structured activities that are of interest to this age group. The youth are involved in choosing the activities for the day. We will present them with options and see where their interests take us. We also make time for games and team building activities. Sibling discounts apply.

Let your kids get their hands and shoes wet and dirty as they explore the natural world around them. All classes will have a short structured activity followed by time to explore and play. They will learn about local ecosystems in a hands-on way while exploring different habitats. From nature-themed picture books, to nature journaling, to discussions of environmental issues, we meet each age group at their level and help them learn at their own pace. We also provide plenty of time for social interaction and fun!

We're coming into salamander season! The warm rainy weather this week was perfect for finding salamanders. We found 8 red back salamanders on Thursday and found our first small mouth salamander of the season on Friday.

The small mouth salamanders are mole salamanders that only come above ground for a few weeks each year to breed. It is very special to find them and we are so excited to share them with the kids.

In our weekly camps we will hike the trails, explore the creek, play in the woods, build forts, search for local wildlife, and play games.

We have camps for ages 4-5, 6-12, and 11-14. Camp size is kept small so camps can be personalized and the kids help decide the activities for the day. There are camps offered in June, July, and August.

Just a heads up for those of you who plan ahead.

Meet Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is our newest program animal. He recently did his first programs and he did such a great job. The kids loved him and he enjoyed being the center of attention.
