Sierra Green and the Giants are coming to the Ludlow Garage on September 11th. This article tells all about their latest album.

"On “Here We Are,” Green and her band put its potent, horn-powered soul sound to a range of songs from the ’60s and ’70s, including Funkadelic’s “Can You Get to That,” Betty Wright’s “Girls Can’t Do What The Guys Do” and the James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome classic “It’s a Man’s World.”

A few New Orleans-born songs are featured, including “Break in the Road,” written by Allen Toussaint and originally recorded by vocalist Betty Harris with backing by The Meters. Another Toussaint-penned song, “Get Low Down,” gets a hip-swaying blues treatment, and Green puts her stamp on David Shaw’s “Promised Land,” originally released by The Revivalists’ frontman in 2020."

New Orleans soul band Sierra Green & The Giants announce a new era on ‘Here We Are’ 'Here We Are' is a coming out party for the soulful New Orleans singer.

It's been over a year since we lost George Winston.

Near the time of his death, George had just finished recording the album Eastern Montana.

His wish was that this album would be released today, August 30th - and his wish came true, thanks to his longtime personal manager Cathy Econom in partnership with Valley Entertainment.

Eastern Montana is now out there in the world!

George performed at The Ludlow Garage many times, and he was a friend. We are proud to honor him by sharing his music with all of you today.

Mason’s Children will be performing at the Ludlow Garage after the Bob Weir and The Wolf Brothers performance with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Mason's Children first began learning the ropes of the music at Dead+Company/Bob Weir shows and gained a following by playing at Shakedown lots before and after each show. They are also known for their impromptu Haight street shows, where they set up plugged in on the corner of Haight Ahbury, playing multiple sets of music, revitalizing Haight of its summer of love era.
