Talbert House is a nonprofit network of social services serving Southwest Ohio. This halfway house organization group went on to form Talbert House.
In March 1964, a meeting was held with a group of private citizens concerned with providing individuals the help and counseling they needed as they re-entered the community following incarceration. Now, more than 36,000 men, women, and children are directly served by Talbert House annually with an additional 34,000 served through hotline and prevention services. Regional nonprofits have contributed an astounding $2.9 billion in economic impact in just one year according to a new study by The Alpaugh Family Economics Center at UC. The study outlines the high value nonprofits bring to our region, not only improving everyday lives, but also generating significant economic returns. The study was commissioned by the Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County in partnership with Leadership Council for Nonprofits and OneSource Center for Nonprofit Excellence with funding from Greater Cincinnati Foundation and Interact for Health.

Meet Tamara. After 7 years in prison, she joined Talbert House's Pathways program. Since graduating, she has reunited with her children, is climbing the latter at Burlington, and a mentor to her colleagues. Her advice? 'Don't be a follower; if you need help, ask.' Tamara's journey is a testament to resilience and the power of support.

Now, more than 24,200 men, women, and children are directly served by Talbert House annually with an additional 80,200 served through hotline and prevention services.
With multiple service sites throughout southwest Ohio, Talbert House offers a broad range of services in the areas of mental health, substance use, community corrections, housing and primary care. These services include assessment, case management, prevention and education, hotline, individual and group counseling, day treatment, and residential. In addition, Talbert House offers intensive outpatient, continuing care, literacy services, parenting training, and family programming.
