This piece proves that even massive failures in the workshop can be turned into something beautiful. This amazing piece that started out as my 1st failed attempt at a sword for the last blade standing competition, I have turned into a broken sword seax. This project was definitely a learning experience as it held many firsts for me, but I absolutely love the way it turned out. From the jagged point on the blade to the beautiful jormungandr leather carving on the sheath, this is definitely one of the best all around pieces that I have produced so far.This one is for sale. After 15 years of being a bladesmith I've finally made my very first chef's knife. It's a Japanese santoku style piece with a brass collar and bloodwood handle. I'm very happy with how this turned out and I'm definitely going to be making more chef knives in the future.

I finally lit the furnace yesterday to start making some aluminum bronze in the shop. I'm not overly fond of the small tongues that came with the furnace so I made a bigger set of crucible tongues that work a lot better and safer. Altogether I got 4 ingots each weighing one pound and roughly 2 pounds of aluminum bronze shot. I've still got a lot of scrap copper and aluminum in the shop so I will be doing much more casting in the future but I think we're off to a good start

I got a fantastic amount of work done on a couple of knives in the shop today. I got the guard fitted and rough shaped on the broken sword seax and I got the entire hilt fitted and rough shaped on the bowie knife for Sylvester Stallone. Both knives are coming along nicely and I'm excited to see them all finished.

Got some more work done on my sword for last blade standing. I'm very happy with how it's turning out and I'm excited to see it all finished. We're almost there.

Got the hammer rack for the new forge all welded up and attached. It turned out great. One step closer to getting this thing finished.

Getting some more work done on my sword for last blade standing. I made a fullering tool to strike in the fuller and widen the blade. It's looking great so far.

The first athame is finished and it looks amazing. I am very happy with how this turned out. All that's left is to make the chief and then it's on to the next one.

Gluing up the handle for one of the athame knives I've been working on. I still have to make the sheath and do some more shaping on the handle but so far it is coming along beautifully. I love the way it's turning out so far and I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Made a clamp on mount for my bench pin today. I've gotta cut some mother of pearl with the jewelers saw here soon for an athame I'm working on. It turned out pretty good. I can't wait to use it.
