I had good intentions of wishing every one of my past customers, employees and friends that was a part of The Lodge a Merry Christmas and simply failed to get it done. I'm not sure who all might still be following but maybe you can spread the word I'm wishing one and all a Happy New Year. What a ride through the years and despite it all some of my most fond memories and I am not sure I showed my appreciation for everyone as I wish I had. One memory that will forever live in my heart is the day the two soldiers showed up hours before opening, just back from the war. They knocked on the door and ask if they could come inside and just sit until I opened, they said as bullets were flying all that kept them going was thinking about The Lodge and The Lodge Burger. They remained loyal until relocating as many soldiers do. What a ride and what a group of people passed through my doors. Thanks Frank

Tomorrow, we pay tribute to all that made the ultimate sacrifice. I was taught to respect the service of all that contributed to service of our country. I wore my dad's dog tags and played with his well-worn canteen with deep scratches in the pot that meals and coffee was made. It had coffee stains and black on the bottom from heat. I was around four when I saw him pick up a man with no arms lying in a ditch in front of our truck stop on Hwy, 45 and 278 where the bus stopped going to Tupelo and Memphis. He cradled the man in his arms and took him into our house that was in the back of the restaurant section. He undressed the man and put him in a hot tub of water and bathed the man head to toe, dried him head to toe, and put him in a pair of pajamas and carried him to bed. The next morning my dad fed the man breakfast because he had no arms. Dad also brushed the man's teeth. He put him in good clothes and shoes, bought him a bus ticket to get to Memphis so he could get help from family. My dad marched in the parades, was VFW Commander, and decorated war veteran with bronze star and purple heart earned in combat. His citation read Sargent Caldwell advance to an exposed position and laid down withering fire with his BAR so his men could retreat. The man in the ditch was a vet. I was at Fort Campbell defending my business against lies perpetuated. I was said to be unscrupulous and treated soldiers poorly and there was danger for them at my business. In the second meeting over lies of beating two soldiers I remember having to brush back a tear. I still love and respect our solders but still get in a sad state thinking about the lies and who they came from. Clarksville is as corrupt as it gets and runs layers deep.

On Memorial Day remember the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Their life,

Fighting Blue Devils 88th Infantry read about the bad ass bunch on the internet.

Thanks Frank

Joe Thronson is my first cousin and was the grand national drag racing champion. He won on that yellow bike he built. I will post up a current picture of me and Joe with that say yellow bike. Things have changed. The bike is going to a museum. Twin engine sporty motors with 2 speed transmission Joe built.

Happy Big Bowl Day. Nobody could do it like The Lodge. God Bless our troops, let justice prevail and the truth be told. One of the greatest bars to ever hit Clarksville. It raised the bar for all and was singled out by downtown because of the competition. I miss all my folks and all that passed through my doors.

Happy New Year to all and special thoughts and well wishing to active duty and military vets. I hope you will not be forgotten. This will be the year of truth in many ways. Thanks to the years of past support and sharing some good times. Frank

Comment on The Lodge performance from Jag about incident ending in the death of a soldier and wounding of two others. The Lodge followed SOP's on file with Fort Campbell but did not receive equal rights in the civilian world as extended to other businesses. Thanks to Fort Campbell for moving the trial to Fort Campbell from Clarksville to allow the truth to be told.

Hard to believe Mike Robinson left so soon. He was just a great guy.

01/07/2020

My last post reached 270 and got some good well wishes for a bunch of old die hards. Good feeling and much appreciated. I was taking a look at some old contests and pictures from my archives and think there were some real crazy fun loving people came through those doors and sowed a whole bunch of wild oats. What is the bid on the original jello wrestling tape. Just kidding I put it in my will to destroy this box upon my death. Wait a minute that stuff is worth a fortune.😎

01/05/2020

Happy belated NEW YEAR to all my employees and guest for almost 13 years. 2003 through 2015. Thanks to one and all and be safe out there.

Sykes Funeral home will be posting Mike Robinson's arrangements on their site. Check there. Thanks

Sad day Mike Robinson has just passed away. He will be missed and can only think of the family at this time. He meant a lot to me and was always interested in me and the success of the business and a place to bring live entertainment to the area for himself and fellow musicians. Good Bye Mike you will be missed. Frank

08/09/2019

Mike's family was called in about an hour ago. I will update when I learn more. Say another little prayer I guess.

Sad news for our little hospitality family. A great musician, entertainer, and friend is in Vanderbilt on life support after a lengthy illness. He played and entertained us all at the beginning of The Lodge and through many years. He and I enjoyed a lot of laughs together and had some good times and conversation. Just say a little prayer for Mike Robinson and his great family. Frank

If you were ever in The Lodge as it changed from a Hail and Farewell to a club, to a sportsbar, to a stage show, to contest, from Monday Night Football, too a Saturday poker run for a Military Charity it was an amazing process that our peers could not duplicate and never will. An old friend I hadn't seen in 30 years stopped by and had dinner on Saturday evening and had an opportuinity to watch the seemless transition from dinner to the band setting up and the party starting. We also had a dinner time hail and farewell ending. You could see the front bar staff beefing up, kitchen staff and back bar tearing down banquet tables, band setting up for sound check, ice wells being filled, extra staff coming in for back bar and service, patio opening, dj getting party started, whiskey rails getting stocked, change makers making sure that was taken care of. I said all that to say, very little talking took place, everybody knew what it took to make it all happen and watching the seamless transition was a rewarding for and a pure enjoyment for those that visited with us. I remember when Bar Nashville advertised on radio, that you no longer have to go to Clarksville to see Jello Wrestling. There were some others that did not like the competition we gave them in Nashville. This was a compliment to our organization and what The Lodge was all about. In 2009 billboards appeared on Wilma Rudolph which was another compliment to what we were all about. I want to thank all the people that helped make us a success against all the odds we had against us since opening in 2003. Naughty School Girl Night became someone else's uniform. One of our girls was working the best of Clarksville before the new business opened and a manager said, you have to get rid of that dress, that is ours. She was one of the first to be hired at the new business. Another business was conceived named Twin Peaks with a strong resemblance in a lot of ways to The Lodge. We were one of a kind with all the best and know I just want to say Thanks.

Mardi Gras is coming and nobody did it with more gusto as The Lodge and it's staff. Thanks for the memories.
