Three things to know about midwives ❤
We hope to see all your beautiful faces today! 😍
When you feel like you're just about ready to give up, that's often the moment when your baby is ready to make their debut. It's a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience within you, as your body works in perfect harmony to bring new life into the world. Trust in the process, trust in your body, and know that with each surge, you're one step closer to meeting your baby.
🤗🤭
Counterpressure during labor can be a game-changer. Whether it's applied by a doula, partner, or support person, this technique involves steady, strong pressure on specific points of the body, often the lower back, during contractions. It can provide immense relief, easing discomfort and helping to manage pain naturally.
Have you tried counterpressure during labor?
We had to jump on the Snoop train! 😂
“But, she says, “doctors now recommend that if an athlete is in good condition going into pregnancy, and there are no complications, then it’s safe to work out, train, and compete at a very high level.” An exception, she says, might be something like ski racing, where the risk of a bad fall is great.”
Competing for two: Pregnant Olympians push the boundaries of possibility in Paris It makes sense that pregnant athletes are pushing boundaries now, one expert says, as both attitudes and knowledge develop about what women can do deep into pregnancy.

A baby doll in an antique birth chair is something that could easily be put away and overlooked.
But it made me pause.
Midwifery care really is more than just caring for the pregnant momma. It’s family care. It’s holding space for the dad, the grandma, grandpa and friend. It’s including and involving little ones. It’s helping those little ones to feel comfortable with pregnancy and childbirth, to feel at home.
At Clarksville Midwifery we hope you feel as welcomed as the little one who felt comfortable enough to play like they were at home.

As long as wehave been midwives, except for the first couple of years we practiced in TN, we have been required BY LAW to give parents information on cord blood banking. When we were students, and new midwives it really was believed this was the way of the future! That by saving your baby’s cord blood you were essentially providing insurance for your child if they would develop a disease in their lifetime. Now even in TN we must give parents information on cord blood banking… but honestly all the lately research does not support this practice.
We want you to do what is best for your family! We support whatever choice you make! We also want you to know this information too.
