Old guys still have tricks that the young guys have never seen or felt.

Fighter excuses that are laughable.

He was scared to stand with me.
1. Ok, if your opponent is better than you on the ground, why wouldn't he want to take it to the ground?
2. If you want to keep it standing, why don't you learn to defend the take down?
3. You should learn to fight on the ground and not just be a one dimensional fighter.

He was scared to go to the ground with me.
1. Why don't you learn to do takedowns better so YOU can make it a ground fight.
2. Why don't you work on your striking so you can hang with your opponent until you can take it to the ground?
3. You should learn to strike so you can be a well rounded fighter.

A smart fighter isn't going to play your game, he is going to take it where he is comfortable and your skills are weak. It doesn't mean he is scared to stand of go to the ground.
