But when Milton started to affect city sewage and water systems, the hospital’s team had to jump into action to continue caring for patients and team members. BayCare’s Mease Countryside Hospital is proud to be offering a new treatment for high blood pressure to the Tampa Bay area. The treatment, known as renal denervation (RDN), is a minimally invasive technique that targets nerves near the kidneys that can become overactive and cause elevated blood pressure. Dr. Parag Patel has been performing RDN procedures as part of a clinical trial at MCH since March, but he recently completed his first case – and the first at any BayCare hospital - since the trial was successfully completed.
