We had a great first Big Cru last night!

Weston Tripp went through Luke 9:18-27 to discuss how the crowds saw Jesus as the means to an end and the religious leaders saw Jesus as a threat to their power.

Who do you say that Jesus is? A threat? Someone that just makes your life better? Or do you see Him as the only way to salvation?

We hope to see you all tonight at 5:30 for Tacos with Tigers! If not, have a blessed weekend, and we hope to see you next week!!

Next up is Hannah Patton!

Major: Civil Engineering

Plans after graduation:

How has Cru impacted you?
Cru gave me biblical community like i’d never experienced. It gave me a soft place to land coming into Clemson—where I didn’t know a single person.

It also provided me with great leaders & role models who taught me what it looked like to make my faith my own and walk with Jesus every single day.

Favorite Cru memory:
Spending 6 weeks in Prague with all my favorite people & meeting some of the kindest souls!!

Favorite Cru event:
Spring break

Parting words/advice:
Get involved in all that you can, make as many friends as possible & tell people about Jesus wherever you go!! You never know how one conversation will change someone’s life/eternity.

How has Cru impacted you?
Cru had blessed me with an incredible community of friends and mentors. I don’t think I would be the person I am today without the way God has used people in Cru to impact my life. Forever grateful for the experiences, memories, and lessons.

Favorite Cru memory:
My favorite memory has got to be Bible study every week with such an amazing group of guys and friends. I know it’s something special when every week we struggled to stay under 2 hours, we just always had so many questions and things about the Bible we wanted to talk about.

Favorite Cru event:
Probably spring break ‘22 and ‘23, I loved getting closer to others on these trips and I also was so impacted by the lessons we had each morning while on the trip.

Parting words/advice:
Never doubt the power of reading Scripture and staying obedient to the Lord. Too many times have I doubted God only to realize his plan was better all along. Dive into the Word and surround yourself with amazing people.

How has Cru impacted you?
As a ministry, cru has helped me navigate what I believe and what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It was alongside me every step as I found security in my salvation.

Favorite Cru memory:
Bubble Ball Soccer at 2021 Fall Retreat

Favorite Cru event:
First week cookout

Parting words/advice:
Okay my parting words are to let loose, be stupid, don’t study and scoot by with a few Cs! It won't kill you lol.
My parting advice is as follows:
Be in the world, not of the world. Take steps of faith and befriend nonbelievers. Be a light in their life and lean heavily on Jesus. We easily fall into a routine of only talking to, sitting next to, and hanging out with people in our tight niche Christian communities. Not only is this unfulfilling to your purpose on Earth, it can be draining and mundane

We miss you already Nolan! We look forward to seeing God’s plan for your life unfold!

Parting words/advice:
Find your people, and pour everything you can into them, but don’t neglect your own personal time with Jesus or rest. This season of your life, in college, will be some of your best memories, take advantage of your time!

We are going to miss you Walker! We’re all praying for you as you step into this new chapter of life!

How has Cru impacted you?
Cru has entirely shaped my college experience and I wouldn’t have it any other way! My best friends and the sweetest community were found through Cru! The steady outpouring of Christian fellowship alongside the mentorship of staff, allowed my faith to grow exponentially. Every person I met through Cru is evidently devoted to the kingdom of Jesus Christ. My time here has been such a blessing and I already miss everyone so much! I am forever grateful for Clemson Cru! I love you guys !!

Favorite Cru memory:
All the bstud memories & sweet friendships that formed. It’s too hard to pick just one!

Favorite Cru event:

Parting words/advice:
BE INVOLVED! Don’t wait for others to seek you out, but instead be intentional. Form community and learn about Jesus. Allow yourself to be poured into by mentors and staff. But also pour into others and love those around you! Let the love of Christ flow from you always. The time goes quickly and life brings a lot of changes, so don’t miss the opportunities, blessings, and resources that are right in front of you💛

We miss you already Rachel! We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you!

05/04/2023

Senior Shoutout #2 of the day! 🎉

Patrick Gibson!! (or Patty G)

Degree: Architecture

Plans post-grad: Work for Vinyet Architecture in Rock Hill, SC

How has Cru impacted you?: Cru has not only gave me a community of Christians to come together with to hear the word of God, it has also given me friendships that I hope to take with me for many more years to come!

Fav Cru memory: My favorite memory from Cru was probably this spring break, which was my first one. It was just a great time of intentionally being away from school with so many great people!

Fav Cru event: My favorite Cru event is probably a toss up between the end of year cookout and the Christmas party.

Parting advice: "Life comes at you pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around every once in a while, you might miss it” Actually though, college goes by faster than you think it will. In the midst of being a busy college student, take some time to slow down and appreciate where God has you and what He is doing with you. This is the best time to not only create and grow your relationship with God, but also to create and grow relationships with people around you that you will carry with you after college and hopefully for the rest of your life!"
We’ll miss you Patrick! We look forward to seeing God’s plan for your life unfold!

Invite your friends to Cru!! Even if you think they will say no, they most likely won’t and you will have planted that seed!

And School Advice: Network!!!!! NETWORK! Then give praise to the Lord once your dreams come true!!

We are going to miss you Sophia! We’re all praying for you as you step into this new chapter of life!

05/02/2023

Next up is Emma Shank!

Major:
Secondary Education and English

Plans after graduation:
I will be Interning with Cru in Prague!!!

How has Cru impacted you?
Over the past four years, Cru has been the community and encouragement I have needed to continually fix my eyes back on Jesus amidst the craziness of college. From Bible studies to worship nights to the best friendships, I am so grateful for Cru for being that constant reminder of our mission to love God and love people as Christ did!

Favorite Cru memory:
Witnessing all the girls in our sophomore Bible Study turn into D1 athletes for the powderpuff game

Favorite Cru event:
BARN DANCE!!

Parting words/advice:
There are a million different things you could give your time and energy to during college, but if there's one you prioritize above all else, let it be Jesus. There is nothing else you could possibly devote yourself to that is as joy-bringing, life-giving, and truly significant as loving the Lord and sharing His love with others.

We are going to miss you Emma! We’re all praying for you and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you!
