Join us for the Junior Grillmasters Competition, presented by Publix on October 13, 2024, at Waterfront Park, 10:30 AM - 1 PM.

Project Scholars, the parent organization and host of Pig on the Pond Community Festival, announced the four south Lake County students who will each receive up to $10,000 in scholarships -- $2,500 for each year they attend college.
Joel Owusu is graduating from Lake Minneola High School. Joel lives in Minneola and is the recipient of the inaugural Orlando Health South Lake Hospital scholarship that focuses on students pursuing a career in STEM. Joel will be attending the University of Central Florida where he plans to major in engineering with the goal of becoming a mechanical engineer.

Johanna Joseph is graduating from Real Life Christian Academy and was the recipient of our Cheryl Fishel Memorial Scholarship. The Clermont senior will be attending the University of Florida where she plans to major in political science focusing on pre-law. Her goal is to become an immigration attorney.

Pig on the Pond Community Festival
Pig on the Pond is an annual festival which has been bringing fun to the South Lake community for almost 20 years with delicious barbecue, live entertainment, thrilling carnival rides, fireworks and more. The festival is an event of Project Scholars, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides educational scholarships and support to local students. Additionally, more than 20 local non-profit organizations participate in the festival as a means to conduct fundraising for educational purposes.
