I'll also have most of my usual fare, plus the triumphant return of my Balsamic Figs! Price list will be in the comments of the original post, so if you're seeing this in a Cleveland food group, come visit my Tim's Urban Oasis page and set for a spell!

05/30/2024

This may not look like much, but this is just one of a couple of beds that we have put in at Tim's Urban Oasis. Here we have sungold tomatoes, poblano peppers, and basil, and we'll be adding root veggies (carrots and radishes) in the spaces. We've also got herbs and many more tomatoes and peppers growing in smaller containers. Just posting this to let you know that, despite my illnesses and disabilities, I am still trying to grow food to pass along to my loyal customers at the Coit Road Farmers' Market! I'm starting my 2024 Growing Season CSA, which you can learn more about on the pinned post at the top of the Tim's Urban Oasis page. I can't do everything I'm hoping to do without selling at least 5 more CSAs, preferably today (Thursday, May 30), so I can load up on more plants at the produce auction tomorrow in Homerville!

Also, I will have fresh-picked LOCAL strawberries from Secor Nursery in Perry Ohio available at Coit this weekend as well!

05/29/2024

You know the new growing season has erally started in Northeast Ohio when two things happen: I start selling tomato plantsm and Secor Nursery in Perry opens up their U-Pick Strawberry fields! Both of these items (tomato plants and Fresh Local Strawberries) will be available this upcoming Saturday at the Tim's Urban Oasis stand at the Coit Road Farmers' Market!
This also means that it's time for everyone to renew their shares for our CSA – or buy a new one if you've never done it before! It's really quite simple.

• Send me $100 (or $200 or $300).
• Watch this page every Friday after 4 PM when I will post this week's price sheet.
• Message me what you'd like to have set aside for pickup.
ªAwing by the following day to the Coit Market and pick up your share. I'll subtract the cost of whatever you're picking up and keep you a running total.
***NEW*** All CSA members will receive 10% off their total for ALL pre-orders they place. This offer is valid only on pre-orders placed before 9 AM on Saturday mornings.
• Brand new CSA members will also receive a free jar of jam, preserves or syrup as a token of my appreciation for your support.

I do this CSA because I need the cash to ensure I have a full table every week/ That's the whole idea behind the concept of "Community Supported Agriculture," and without my shareholders' support I would have gone out of business along time ago. That being said, I could really use five or six (or more) new accounts or renewals to make sure I have a full load of strawberries, mushrooms, greens and all the other fine products you have come to enjoy!

To make your purchase, send your $100/$200/$300 to...
• ww.paypal.me/Timroff
www.venmo.com/Timroff
www.cash.app/$Timroff or
• use Zelle to make your purchase. Make your payment to 2169264806 (or [email protected])

Lots of cool things happening tomorrow (and Sunday and Monday!)
First off, I will have RAMPS tomorrow at the Coit Road Farmers' Market! Not a lot of them, but I'll definitely have them. I'll also have Asparagus, small wild green onions (more like chives), large green onions plus all of the regular fare.Check the attched price list for details.
Secondly, I now have LION's MANE TINCTURE!!! A couple of drops every night in a glass of water before you hit the pillow and it's amazing what it will do for your memory, energy, and neuron repair.
Please don't forget that I'm doing a birthday fundraiser for Tim's Urban Oasis. I've chosen this business beccause I started it and I want it to survive! I'm asking for 100 people to donate $61 each to honor the 61 years you've had to put up with me on this planet.
Lastly, we currently have an online auction going on for four hand-carved wooden bowls donated to the Oasis by my friend and brother Mike Yates for the fundraiser, which you can see at https://airauctioneer.com/urban-oasis-spring-auction

Photos from Tim's Urban Oasis's post 04/19/2024

My dear friend and fraternity brother Mike Yates has made a lovely donation to Tim's Urban Oasis in the form of these four hand-carved bowls. See below about how you, dear , might be able to take one home!

Here are Mike's words about his work:

"I began hand carving wood with just a hammer and chisel with wood that I would find appealing at work. The wood was usually from a tree that I had pruned or helped remove. The process of using a hammer and chisel helped to keep my mind focused and less anxious.

I was drawn especially to cedar and other twisty wood that would never conform to a uniform look. It was the beauty of the knotholes and flow of the grain that I wanted to reveal. The Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, or finding the beauty of imperfection helped to give words to what I was drawn to.

I never wanted to sell my carvings, but I loved giving them away. I would try to listen to the wood during the carving process and let it lead me to who was supposed to get it. Because I listen to music while carving, several of my bowls went to musicians. It felt right to share my art in appreciation for their art.

A lot of these musicians happened to be trans or gender q***r. I didn't exactly understand what they had experienced. But I did know that I was working with wood that was once a tree and is now a bowl, but it will always be wood. I firmly believe that what I carve is the form the wood was always intended to look like. Trying to explain this to musicians half my age wasn't easy because I wasn't sure how they would react to my attempt to put into words my understanding of their gender. Especially as a cis passing individual. Thankfully my love outshined my clumsy words.

My carving is inspired by these individuals who do not conform to the societal concepts of gender. What transphobes think are flaws are actually some of their beauty. And they were always meant to look on the outside like they feel on the inside. My carvings are just a crude metaphor for their beauty."

It's tough to quote this handsome fella here, but it's true. Right now I am (almost) halfway there and definitely still living on a prayer.
Woah-oh!
But instead of taking my hand, I'm asking you to take up my offer of a Tim's Urban Oasis CSA to help me and my farmstand get through the next couple of months. I had hoped to sell nine memberships this week, however, so far, I've only sold four shares, so if I could get five more in today that would be just terrific, and it would help to make my birthday (in just ten days) something worth celebrating. If you can do that then we'll make it, I swear!
Just send $90 to...
www.PayPal.com/Timroff
www.Venmo.com/Timroff
www.cash.app/$Timroff
or Zelle to 2169264806 or [email protected]
and I will give you $100 worth of credit at my stand,* a jar of Grandpa's Apple Syrup or Smoked Peach and Poblano Jam, and special deals not available to the general public. This week I have lion's mane mushrooms that new members (and renewals) can get for the reduced price of $1/ounce rather than the regular $1.25/ounce.
This deal only lasts until tomorrow, so act now!

04/05/2024

So it may be rainy this evening, but the Saturday forecast looks like partly sunny skies with a high of 45º, so I really hope to see a ton of people at the Coit Road Farmers' Market and swing by the Tim's Urban Oasis stand! We're open from 8 AM until 1 PM, and the Trumpet Mushrooms are going to go quickly, so get there early!

03/30/2024

Here's the price sheet for tomorrow's Tim's Urban Oasis stand at the Coit Road Farmers' Market. Lots of great choices for last-minute Easter supper needs! Open 8 AM until 1 PM

03/26/2024

Since I've been getting a better-than-usual response on my food posts lately, I thought I'd take a moment to remind folks that I often run ot of product pretty quickly on Saturday mornings. One way to avoid missing out on this amazing purple cauliflower or trumpet mushrooms is to purchase a Community Supported Agriculture share! With a share, it provides me with the advance cash I need to keep the table filled, and in exchange I let you place an order the day before which I will set aside when we set up our display, and then you can just swing by and pick it up on Saturday morning. Or I can bring it home and you can swing by my house later. Or if you live near the market (think east-side inner ring suburbs) I might be willing to drop it off at your house after the market (very limited availability of this. It really depends on how exhausted I am after the market). Anyway, here's how it works:
You send me $90.
I will enter your name into a database in column A, and $100 in column B.
You come to the market, pick out whatever you want from my stand, and I subtract their value from your balance. I also give you a free jar of jam or syrup (the first time you stop in).
We keep doing this until your balance is $0, then you refill and we repeat.
You're more than welcome to deposit more than $90, by the way. I'll just add 10% of what you deposit onto your balance.
To join, you can bring cash to the market. You can visit www.venmo.com/Timroff or paypal.me/Timroff or www.cash.app/$Timroff if you'd like. You can call me with your credit card and I'll run the numbers through Square. Or you can use my phone number (216-926-4806) to Zelle me the money. I'll basically take any form of US Currency except for Bitcoin.
Feel free toask any questions down below!
