Several members of the James A. Garfield Civil War Round Table visited the cemetery with Dr. E. Curt Fields, Jr., America's foremost expert on General Ulysses S. Grant.
Dr. Fields will be in town as a part of the JAGCWRT's annual summer signature event, and will be in full CW uniform that day.

ivil War Living History Day, Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Wooster Library front yard, the atrium inside the library front door, and the conference room. The Wayne County Civil War Roundtable, in collaboration with the Wayne Co. Libraries, is hosting the day. There is no charge and the event is open to the public. We are still commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War one year and one month after Gen. Lee finally surrendered. The horrific war had gone on for four years almost to the day.
A highlight of the day will be the 73rd OVI Regimental Band with their original CW instruments plus other CW musicians! The band will be playing at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. that day in the Conference Room. They are a very accomplished group of musicians!
Additional programs in the Conference Room are;
12:00 noon - Rick & Pam Tenan “Southern Feelings Before the War”
12:30 p.m. - Union Flag exhibit by Dave Shaw (Col. R. B. Hayes)
1:00 p.m. – Mrs. Carolyn Caskey as CW Nurse “Mother” Bickerdyke
During the day you will be able to visit with CW infantry soldiers and their encampment; artillery experts with cannon & limber; Gen. Wm. Rosecrans; Gen. Samuel Cooper; Gen. & Mrs Robert E. Lee; a civilian couple from Dover, Tennessee; a CW cavalry soldier and authentic "gear"; a CW Surgeon with his gruesome instruments plus nurse "Mother" Bickerdyke; a CW cook and her cooking utensils; “Buffalo Bill”; a display of beautiful CW dresses; CW era spinning and weaving; plus CW artifacts & literature; and more. Pres. & Mrs. Abraham Lincoln are also expected!

Sep. 20 - John Spaziani of North Canton, will be presenting as the Confederate Gen. Samuel Cooper, Adjutant and Inspector General, the highest ranking full Confederate officer, who was mainly involved with Confederate spies and espionage.
Oct. 18 - Harold George of Westlake, an accomplished author and lecturer with over 25 years of speaking experience, will present a program on “Ghost Stories of the American Civil War”.
Nov. 15 - Lynne Bury from Marshallville, National Historian of the Ladies of Grand Army of the Republic, will speak on the Women’s Civil War Society which was founded in 1881.
