Norwalk toddler receives new kidney Family raises money for medical expenses

“I had a kidney transplant three and a half years ago. I was very fortunate; a dear friend of mine was tested without my knowledge and was a great match. We both had a few things to overcome before the transplant could take place. So, for me, dialysis was about a year. I did PD dialysis at home, and I felt very lucky to be able to do this.

I am currently working full-time and plan on doing this for the next few years. I'm very thankful for the organ donation process; it has saved my life and also several of my other family members.

The picture is of myself and my donor. I am on the right, and my donor is on the left. Organ donation truly is the gift of life.”
