"My name is Brandon Talley, and I am waiting for a kidney transplant. I was a Recreation Leader for the Columbus Park and Recreation Department and have also worked for the Columbus City Schools.

I've been a diabetic since I was nineteen. As you know, diabetes is the number one cause of kidney disease. I stayed in shape most of my life, but your kidneys can only do so much.

I've gone to dialysis thrice a week for the past three years. I am searching for a living donor while advocating for myself. You have to speak up for yourself. I encourage everyone to become an organ donor. If you can't help me, you can help someone else."

In 2007, Holly and Andy's 11-week-old son, Jacob, passed away unexpectedly. They realized that through the gift of organ donation they could help keep another family from losing a child. 800 miles away in Iowa, Kim and Nathan, were wating on a second chance at life for their 2-week-old son, Beckham. "2022 was a year that has forever changed my life. After becoming unexpectedly becoming ill and almost losing my life at the end of 2021, I was added to the organ transplant list in early 2022.

When I was told in February 2022 that I would be receiving a new organ I was in shock, scared but also excited. All I could think about was what an incredibly generous gift this person has given and how I will be forever grateful. While I don't know the donor (but wish I did), I want to say thank you. Thank you to that special person, thank you to their friends & family and thank you for donating a priceless gift.

It is now my mission to spread the word about organ donation and how easy it is to just check YES!"
