NO KILL OHIO

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the senseless killing and abuse of animals in our home state of Ohio.

We want to stop the needless killing of healthy pets in shelters. We dream to unite organizations and people of different walks of life to build communities that do not kill unwanted animals. We believe that animals are living, breathing souls, and as such, should be respected and treated with love and dignity. We believe that no animal should be killed unless they have a terminal or untreatable m

Schmoo has been at Wayne County Dog Shelter for 279 days, and we can't figure out why this sweet boy keeps getting overlooked. His dark coat and stressed demeanor in the kennel might make him blend in, but don’t be fooled – Schmoo is a loving companion just waiting for his perfect home.

Schmoo thrives on human interaction and has formed a special bond with one of our younger volunteers. He's shown no issues with her, leading us to believe he’d do wonderfully in a home with children.
When meeting other dogs, Schmoo was a bit nervous but friendly. We highly recommend a meet and greet with any potential dog siblings to ensure a smooth transition. However, we don't think Schmoo would be a good fit for homes with cats – he's just a bit too much for our feline friends.

If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, come meet Schmoo! Let’s give this overlooked sweetheart the loving home he deserves. 💕🏠

Share to help make day 280 the start of his new forever home journey.

This pretty girl on the left is SCARLETT. She is one of the Beagle trio that were dumped in Bowerston last weekend by their person who lives in Scio. Her name was Amethyst but a new life means a new name. The pup on the right is her brother Rhett. The third sibling did not make it.

SCARLETT is a typical Beagle. She’s got something to say about a variety of subjects. She’s also typical in that she’s a sweetheart. She loves attention and to climb into an available lap. We believe she’s about 7 months old based on the photos of her and the others on her former owner’s FB page. SCARLETT is good with other dogs and kids. We don’t know about cats. She and RHETT can be adopted together, but don’t have to.

SCARLETT will be having an emergency spay done on Tuesday and can’t leave with a family until after that. To apply for this love bug, fill out an application online at
harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

MEET CHAI CHAI Cleveland Animal Protective League
Older, wiser, and still stealing hearts, that’s Chai Chai! 💕

Chai Chai is a spunky 8-year-old gal who’s down for anything. She recently went on a field trip and loved being on the go. Chai Chai did great in the car and had a smile on her face the whole time she was exploring.

This 44 pound cutie is short and compact but has a huge heart. Chai Chai is wiggly and excited to meet new people whenever she has the chance. She has done well with cats and children in the past, she’s just too sweet. Chai Chai is lovable, loyal, and lively. You get the best of both worlds with this girl, she’s always ready for an adventure and lots of snuggles.

If you’re looking to adopt, don’t over look our older dogs, like Chai Chai! Adopting an older dog means giving them a second chance at love that they so deserve.

CRISPIN is a CITY DOG at Cleveland Kennel
9203 Detroit Avenue

Crispin is just a happy little guy! He is lively and engaging while remaining sweet and attentive with people. At just around a year old, Crispin still has some puppyish energy, but he is well-rounded and eager to please. He's bright and curious, eager to explore on long walks or adventures with his person. He is playful and fun as well, but balances it out by being affectionate and snuggly.

Crispin seems housebroken as he consistently keeps his kennel clean, and he knows how to sit. He's been social with other dogs so far as well.

Crispin weighs a compact 35 lbs, making him a nicely manageable size. He's a great little dude!

Meet ACE
Harrison County Dog Pound
Cadiz, OH

ACE came to our pound as a stray, but since he has been with us, we have learned a lot about him.

He is the cutest little guy who doesn't know how to take a bad photo. He is sweet and affectionate, and very playful. ACE gets along with other dogs and likes kids; we don't know how he would do with cats

He is about a year old and, from what we learned, he hasn't had an easy life. ACE ended up with someone who got his jollies from beating him. You would never know this based on ACE's temperament, but he is afraid of brooms and steers clear of them. ACE loves to play and run. When he has an opinion about something, the Husky part of him comes out and he lets you know what he thinks, especially when he wants attention. ACE will need some housebreaking lessons, but this boy is smart and should learn fast.

Interested in meeting Ace?

MEET SHADOW
Wayne County Adoption Center
Wooster, OH

Shadow (we only know because it was embroidered on his collar)
Age: 2 yrs
Breed: Black Labrador Retriever
Gender: Male Intact
Weight: 56lbs

Meet the one and only Shadow—the black Labrador with a personality bigger than the Grand Canyon and a sense of humor to match! (See more below)

Shadow is home with his new family! 6/8/24

Name: Shadow (we only know because it was imbordered on his collar)
Age: 2 yrs
Breed: Black Labrador Retriever
Gender: Male, neutered
Weight: 56lbs

Hey there, folks! Buckle up for the ride of your life, 'cause you're about to meet the one and only Shadow—the black Labrador with a personality bigger than the Grand Canyon and a sense of humor to match!

Picture this: you're minding your own business, sipping your morning coffee, when out of nowhere, here comes Shadow, zooming around the house like a furry tornado on a sugar rush! Seriously, who needs caffeine when you've got this guy around?

Now, don't be fooled by his sleek, shiny coat and those soulful eyes that could melt even the iciest of hearts—this pup is more than just a pretty face. He's a bona fide goofball extraordinaire! When he's not busy tripping over his own paws or chasing his tail in endless circles (seriously, will he ever catch it?), he's probably staging an epic battle with his arch-nemesis: the vacuum cleaner. Spoiler alert: the vacuum never stands a chance.

But wait, there's more! Shadow's talents extend beyond just comedy—he's also a master of disguise! One minute, he's a stealthy ninja, creeping through the shadows (pun totally intended), and the next, he's a world-class opera singer, serenading the neighborhood with his soulful rendition of "How Much Is That Doggy in the Window?" Trust us, you haven't lived until you've heard it.

So, if you're in the market for a furry comedian who's guaranteed to keep you laughing 'til your sides hurt and your cheeks ache, look no further than Shadow. Just be sure to stock up on treats and belly rubs—he's got a bottomless appetite for both!

BEAR is a CITY DOG at Cleveland Kennel
9203 Detroit Ave. Cleveland,OH

Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet!

Take a walk on the mild side with Bear! Bear is a sweet and soulful pup with face wrinkles to melt your heart. Despite his permanently worried expression, he's a happy pup who's ready to be your doting companion.

Currently living in a foster home, Bear has shown that he is an affectionate boy with a sensitive side. While he has adjusted to the work schedule, his ideal home would include family members who can be home with him a lot of the time, as he much prefers having company. He's totally housebroken, and is also good with the other dogs currently living in his foster home.
Bear is a big but gentle boy at 76 lbs, and he is estimated to be around 2 years old.

VOICES of the TRUMBULL COUNTY DOGS

Meet Blair.
Why is Blair still here???

Blair is the sweetest, most loving boy you'll ever meet💙. How is he
Blair had a home once, but his mom got hurt and could no longer care for him💔. Then, he got very sick, and it was discovered that he was having thyroid issues. Blair is now on medication and doing so much better, but he still needs a home!
**Blair is estimated at 2 years old, and he weighs about 50 lbs. He's neutered and fully vetted. Blair is the absolute best boy. He adores people, knows some of his basic commands, loves to play with his jolly ball, and will do anything for some peanut butter! It's impossible to look at his big, brown eyes and not want to give him the world!**
Please get your applications in ASAP for this guy. Blair misses having a home and family of his very own😔.
*As always, a meet and greet with your resident dog is required to ensure a good fit.* -Wendi

Pablo has a title he doesn't want.. he is the longest resident at Cleveland Kennel. and has been waiting since December for his forever family. (See info below)

Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet!

9203 Detroit Avenue
Cleveland, OH

Sweet and dapper Pablo has found himself as the longest resident at the Cleveland kennel, and he's been waiting for a home since December - but he hopes he doesn't have to wait too much longer!

Pablo is a friendly, mild-mannered fellow. If you're in the market for an oversized weighted blanket, Pablo is here to help. He's been nice with people at the kennel, but his loving side has really shines on sleepovers. He is a great snuggler, whether he's stretching out across your lap or curling himself into a compact pod.

Pablo has also shown that he is quick to pick up on a household routine and we that with just a little time to settle, he'll be solid on housebreaking and crate-training. Pablo is also pretty easy to take for walks. He enjoys long strolls through the park or neighborhood, so he makes a great buddy if you want to get out and stretch your legs but then also do plenty of hanging out back at home. Pablo has been brushing up on further tricks and training while he waits, but he already has the basics down such as sitting on command taking treats nicely. He's totally been overlooked but he has a big heart to match his big blockhead and he's ready to share it with a family. Pablo is estimated to be around 4 years old.

I'm just an all around fantastic lad. I'm good at charming the ladies and the boys are all talking about me. I love everyone I meet and most dogs are my friends - I met a cranky canine and I did the borks at him. I also met a purdy lil girl and I wanted to play with her. I should probably not live in a home with the kitties because I wasn't taught how to play nice with them.

I'm approx. 4 1/2 years old and weigh approx. 58 lbs.
