Reiki and pregnancy
Reiki got me & my baby through it without a doubt, from start to finish. I found so many benefits to getting and doing reiki while pregnant. My first pregnancy was far from pretty. I threw up almost daily so much that I had to make time in the morning before going to work just to do so and then I would just go back to sleep and hope it didn’t happen when I woke up again. Eventually something dawned on me to have a reiki session after, and it changed my whole day. Instead of being scared and feeling like I was going to throw up throughout the day, it was like I could push it down & go about my day. So, then I started doing reiki as soon as I was awake, still laying in bed. Whether it was a couple minutes or twenty, I felt that it helped decrease how often I threw up & of course was an immediate mood and energy booster. In addition to helping how I felt physically, reiki kept my mental together whenever I started having those crazy pregnancy thoughts, and I’m sure any woman who has been pregnant can relate. Your mind isn’t even yours when you’re pregnant and mines was filled with a lot of doubt and worry. Reiki also allowed me to connect with my baby on an emotional and spiritual level. It’s like we were having a full conversation when we were in the zone. I didn’t verbally talk to him a lot, but I know that through reiki, we grew our bond together. Although I practiced on myself it was mandatory for me to get reiki from my teacher Annette. I scheduled my appointments with her before my doctor’s appointment every month. During our sessions, I wasn’t doing anything but soaking it all in (and enjoying my nap). My teacher is a true professional and has been practicing for as long as I have been alive, so it only made sense to me to see a professional for me & my baby’s overall wellbeing, just as I went for monthly checkups at the doctors. Only with reiki, it wasn’t just a physical checkup. It was a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual cleansing and growth session.

Fast forward to having my mans in this world now, I feel that people can see the difference. He’s almost always happy and even when he is crying about something it only takes a quick laugh to put him back in that good mood. He lifts my spirits every day and sometimes I feel that he is even giving back a little of what I gave him in the womb. I am on my second pregnancy and on those tough days he’ll come, put his hand on my back and just sit with me for a little. It’s like I can feel him whispering “everything’s going to be alright.”

I’ve told so many people that I wish reiki, or something similar, was mandatory during pregnancy like going to the doctor and getting a bunch of tests are. Most of the time people are only worried about the physical aspect of pregnancy when in reality, if we want a better physical, taking care of the mental, emotional, and spiritual is necessary. We aren’t really told that but instead that the crazy thoughts, dreams, and crying is “totally normal” and that it’ll get better after birth which we all know that sometimes it gets worse after birth.
Anyone that asks me what I did & why my mans is so happy, I tell them reiki. Get reiki during the entire pregnancy and after not just for the sake of the baby, but for mama’s health also.
