We had a great time getting together with our staff before the holidays at our annual holiday party! This year we hosted the party West Bank Golf Club and enjoyed food catered by Cleveland Field Kitchen.

Construction is underway City of Lakewood, Ohio - Municipal Government's Foster Pool in Lakewood Park. Our team closely engaged the community to develop solutions that worked for all users. The pool was designed to be extremely flexible for myriad programming opportunities, while maintaining the integrity of the competition swimming. We're excited to be a part of this project and look forward to it's completion!

Started the morning off with breakfast sandwiches from Martha On The Fly and then hosted a White Elephant Gift Exchange full of some great gifts!

Meet Dan. Dan is responsible for managing the people and resources of our Structural team at Sixmo. His duties include coordinating projects, mentoring staff, and ensuring quality of work. When not in the office Dan enjoys cooking and exploring new restaurants and breweries; traveling, and reading nonfiction--mostly books on engineering and history. Meet Michael! Michael leads the structural design process for numerous projects at Sixmo as well as working with other senior engineers in coordinating project deliverables to both clients and internal staff.

Given the chance, Michael would switch places with any of the architect designers. He says he would love to see what it's like to focus on the aesthetic and functionality side of designing a building. Learn more about Michael at the link below.

Meet Brandon! Brandon leads the mechanical and plumbing engineering process for Sixmo. His duties include project management, client management, and vendor coordination.

Since joining the team, Brandon says he's been able to pick up on many aspects of the entire design process, thanks to our collaborative work environment. Meet Katalin. Katalin works within our architectural team in design, rendering, and coordinating project deliverables to both clients and internal staff.

While she's a proud Clevelander now, Katalin recently lived in Budapest, Hungary, and says that will always be an important part of her identity. We're looking forward to seeing our designs become a reality for Foster Pool in City of Lakewood, Ohio!

Construction at Foster Pool is set to begin on Wednesday, September 7th. The first thing you will notice is temporary construction fencing going up to allow construction vehicles and trucks to enter the construction zone. Demolition of the existing pools and site preparation for the new pools will follow shortly afterwards. Stay tuned for future updates on this exciting renovation project!

This week, we've welcomed Dan Chrzczonowski to our team! Dan joins our Tremont office as our new Director of Structural Engineering. Dan brings great experience and ability to our team and will provide strong leadership over our Structural department.

We are very excited to announce that we have been officially certified as a Great Place to Work! This process included the gathering of anonymous survey data from all of our employees, as well as an analysis of our organization and culture. We are grateful to have earned this distinction, which honors all of the great people who are a part of the Sixmo Companies!

Last month members of our team we able to play in the Geis Foundation's golf outing. We love being able to support local philanthropic efforts while spending time with clients. The Erwin & Katherine Geis Charitable Foundation promotes education to underprivileged youth, assists in the development of the design/build industry, and encourages the philanthropic efforts of Geis employees.

Meet Ruben. Ruben leads the structural design process for numerous projects at Sixmo as well as working with other senior engineers in coordinating project deliverables to both clients and internal staff. The #1 item on Ruben's bucket list is to watch a Chelsea FC game in their home stadium Stamford Bridge, London, and if he won the lottery he'd throw a party for everyone. Introducing our newest team member, Daniel Dilly. Daniel joins the team as our in-house web developer working on internal projects to help us continue growing in efficiency and effectiveness. He will work full-time out of our Marietta office!

Meet Jim. Jim is responsible for the management and coordination of resources for our Architectural projects. Rooted in the belief that communication is the key to successful project delivery, he strives to keep the team informed and on the same page at every project milestone.

We're excited to welcome Katalin Tomaschek to our team! Katalin is an Architectural Associate who will work out of our Cleveland office. We look forward to the future of our architectural department with Katalin on board.

HSB Architects + Engineers hired Sixmo’s structural engineering team for the design of two brand new 3-story mixed restaurant and retail builds located directly on the Cuyahoga River on the East Bank of the Flats district in Cleveland, Ohio. The construction of both buildings consists of wood and light gage gabled roof trusses, light gage steel stud and glass curtain walls, and traditional composite floor steel construction. The foundations for the building were designed to accommodate a high water table due to proximity to the Cuyahoga River and were designed as shallow soil bearing foundations based on collaboration with the project’s geotechnical engineer. This was an awesome project for our team to be a part of!

Located directly across the street from our Marietta offices, we're excited to be a part of this historic renovation! Over the years the building has housed an electric light plant, the Marietta Chamber of Commerce, a printing operation, a jail, and the Marietta Police Department. Currently, it is the home of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union No. 168, who will begin renovations soon.
