📣📣BIG NEWS CASP Members!!📣📣
Our Winter Meeting date is set and we are so excited to announce our presenter Dr. Ben-Porath!
⭐⭐Teaching Emotion Regulation to Students:The Application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to School Settings⭐⭐
The purpose of this 3-hour professional development is to present a basic overview of DBT Skills and orient school psychologists to the basic tenets of DBT. The change-based and acceptance-based DBT skills will be taught. The change-based skills include the interpersonal effectiveness skills and the emotion regulation skills. The acceptance-based skills include the distress tolerance skills. Distress tolerance skills teach students skills on how to tolerate a situation without acting on urges or impulses. Professional Development participants will learn several DBT skills as well as how to apply DBT interventions to the school setting.
➡➡Zoom/Meets link will be sent out morning of meeting to those registered!

8 CASP Member volunteers needed:
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, between 3-6 p.m. we will
prepare dinner for the families at Ronald McDonald House. There
are changes due to increased concern for food safety. They
remodeled their kitchens and have increased preparation
guidelines.
They choose the menu and provide the food. One of their staff
will oversee our progress to ensure hygiene. We will pack
individual containers with leftovers for families who may eat later.
We will remain in the kitchen until the clean-up is complete.
Please plan to stay for 3 hours. We will wear face masks and
gloves (provided by RMH).
Because we are not providing food supplies, the CASP Board has
approved a donation of $300 to RMH, equivalent to what we
spent in the past.
If you are interested, contact Valorie Wolcott Mendelson at
[email protected]. I will notify you when there are eight.
