As we head into the last weeks of the school year, we want to congratulate our 2024 Friends of the Library scholarship winners - Emily Marincic and Evelyn Vieira. These bright, talented Shen students will graduate later this month; both have been active participants in their school and local communities, as well as active library patrons.

At a ceremony last month, both young women were recognize and celebrated. Emily was able to attend with her parents, and we surprised her with a guest visit from Gramma Tippy Toes - a beloved library figure who Emily recognized in her scholarship essay as having had a strong impact on her.

Congratulations to both of our winners, and the entire class of 2024!

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday for our latest Two Towns One Book event! As a tie-in with this year’s community read, Lessons in Chemistry, we welcomed members of our local rowing community and invited attendees to try their hand (and back and legs!) at a rowing machine.

We also heard from author Maureen McCauley, viewed “The Boys of 36” film, and enjoyed a book-themed cake! It was a great time overall! 🚣‍♀️🍰📚
